ANALOG / DIALOGUE 2016
Malform is a collection study that is based on research involving changes and deformations in the human body. Murky ideology involving disability and aging have tainted our ability to see potential of human beauty in all forms. Thus, the ideas expressed in the collection are a celebration of nontraditional representations of beauty. After the study of a variety of pieces by Jenny Saville, Francis Bacon and many others, the artist toyed around with concepts involving the mutation of the body, and body image.

PARSONS WORK
OPHELIA
TRIPTYCH In this collaborative work, sought to recreate a piece by an established artist. The choice was an editorial by a fashion photographer named Slevin Aaron, who depicted fragile young women in laced white gowns submerged in cloudy water. Dead foliage frames their bodies. In light of Aaron’s inspiration, Ophelia by John Everett Millais, the artists conceived a similar body of work with a modern demeanor discussing the thin lines between life and death. (In collaboration with: Maja W, Alex P, and Christina B)

AURA
Aura is a small collection based around the idea of a supernatural, yet ever present, form of spirituality. The use of soft silk georgettes and gentle chiffons in conjunction with stiff taffetas contributes a layered texture to the overall feel of the collection. Aesthetic inspiration includes alien-esque imagery and films of underwater sea movement.
A final project for a technical fashion illustration course, the concept behind this collection lies in the transition from cocoon to emergence.
