Under One Roof” aims to close the gap between newly arrived refugees in London, particularly in Peckham, and the local residents who have been affected by recent gentrification.
The project’s goal is to reconstruct the sense of home by connecting these diverse communities and bringing back significant memories and moments that we all share when thinking of home. Through a range of activities, the project strives to foster a sense of belonging and unity where both
refugees and long-term residents can rebuild their sense of home together.
The layout of the project is organised around a central courtyard where it connects from one side to the existing house with a range of culinary activities that promote the idea of gathering and celebrating user’s cultural heritage, and from the other side to a communal dining space to share meals and memories. The main garden/ courtyard forms a roundabout of some sorts and give access to an undergorund cool storage area that can be used to store the produce grown in the main garden. This concept allows the freedom of movement and fosters the idea of unity and connection amongst refugees and displaced locals.
Dining
A key feature of this house extention is using the structural roof as a method to provide clean water for drinking and watering the plants in the garden through rain water. These passive climate interventions along the underground cold storage amount to significant savings in energy but also promote diversity and inclusivity by gathering people together.

02. Ladywell Playtower
Project: Redesigning a second grade listed building formerly used as a public swimming pool
Location: Ladywell Playtower, London
Duration: 8 weeks
Type: Academic | 2023
My project focused on redesigning the interior space of a second-grade listed building in Lewisham, previously used as public baths and swimming pool, with the goal of creating an inclusive, accessible, and diverse community space. Lewisham is one of the most multicultural areas in London and therefore a range of diverse communities exist
in the area. Ladywell Playtower can be seen as an example of one the spaces which used to gather the locals and different communities together from 1885-2004. Therefore, I decided to redesign the space in a way that both the Lewisham commuinty and children can use it together.
The tower can be seen as a symbol of a cohesive building, bringing communities and individuals together from different backgrounds.

As I wanted to push the idea of adaptive and flexile usage of the existing space in the first class swimming pool, I came across the concept of modularity and geometric design. The ideas focuses on components that could be seprated and combined in different ways which mainly helped me to look and research for different ways to promote reverse inclusion while following the rules of designing spaces for children with special needs.

03. Public Toilets
Project: Designig public toilets for the
Location: South Kensington, London
Duration: 5 weeks
Type: Academic 2022
With project being about designing a public toilet, I began by choosing a theme to create a conncetion between the design, topic and the purpose of public toilets. Celebration, Provocation and necessity were the themes I decided to work with.
In a large city like London, homelessness and rough
sleeping are significant issues, often leading to a lack of access to basic necessities such as showers. My design aimed to celebrate the convergence of commuters from diverse backgrounds in a new communal space, which happened to be the public toilet.

04. Creative Visualizations
Project: Archi-Graph workshop series
Duration: 2023- present
Type: Personal 2023
I have been creating Collage art and creative visualizations since 2023 and have used this as a way to express my thoughts and feelings. Doing this has helped me to think more creatively and look at possible design solutions from different perspectives and at the same time providing a bridge to generate creative ideas across various fields such as architecture and graphic design.
Working with the concept and the structure of Persian architecture, the majority of my collages are created using the idea of preserving the old and creating new spaces instead of fully demolishing.
