VOLUNTEERING | I have been working with the Open House Gdynia - an architecture festival for five years now. From being a volunteering staff to a tour guide/ host for special guests from an architecture-focused tv channel - Domo+. Later, when Open House Gdansk was born, I helped as an exhibition coordinator in several locations such as The Museum of the Second World War. As a Vice President of a Scientific Student Association - Hulaj Urban Squad I pay a lot of attention to the means of accessibility in the city. For 2018 Open House Gdansk addition I had designed and built a ramp for disabled people, seniors or kids on the kick scooters to give them access to art, particularly Kolonia Artystów Gallery in Wrzeszcz. Other architectures and design festivals that I was involved in are: Gdynia Design Week, Free Cities Festival Gdańsk, Design talks Business Summit in Pomeranian Science and Technology Park Gdynia, Jane’s Walk Gdańsk. COFFEE LOVER | I am a cofounder of Kawa Squada. A coffee brand created by three coffee lovers who decided to share a great passion. We designed and built a small production line of cold brew beverage, as well as a food truck/Quad to serve this unique drink. In order to make it happen, we have committed time and energy to find the best coffee bean suppliers, improve the technology of brewing and learn more by attending to lots of coffee tasting sections and coffee festivals. PASSION | It goes without saying that architecture is my greatest passion. Still, when I take a week off, I despair in mountains or on Copenhagen Hill. Thanks to it, I managed to become a certificated snowboard instructor in the SITS system of training.

REUSE ITALY 2020 COMPETITION AUTOCAD | RHINO 6 | PHOTOSHOP

In collaboration with Łukasz Zabolski

CONCEPT | The beauty of reused architecture lays in purifing the built structure, maintaining its history, and preserving its culture. With that in mind, we emphasize on the importance of time and heritage with creating a meaningful connection between the old and new. FORM | Throughout the design, we wanted to create two distinctly different spaces to evoke memories of the great history of the Romans heritage. With focusing on contrasting spaces, we generate areas that may complement each other, integrating the untouched remains with enhanced sections, both inside and outside the reservoir. On top of the cistern, the wire mesh provides a translucent shift from the heritage to urban grid and a new structure. To fit the specific location, we decided to implement the arcs in colorful frames that recall the household rooftops made out of corrugated metal, present in the close neighborhood. While art is essential, we believe that the site is as important as the art that will be showcased. With the proposed design, the visitors journey begins and ends where the water used to come in and leave out, so they follow the direction in which the water used to run; this concept cements the whole experience of heritage, history, the beauty of nature and gravity. A tangled footbridge serves as a prelude to the most considerable part of the project, which is the precious cistern itself. Equivalently to the rhythm of music, it features a small number of melodic motifs that recur through the piece; a pathway is a preface preparing for the essential matter. It has been designed in a way to let its visitors gradually be revealed to the atmosphere of the cistern.

Plan - Level -1

Plan - Level 0

CONTEMPORARY ART MUSEUM | The proposal shows an alternative form to the typical museum typology, where the visit is an expirience by itself. We decided to highlight the spirit of the space to add value to the visitor’s adventure. The proposed design is meant to recreate the water that used to run through the cistern to intensify the experience of artwork in the contemporary art museum. With great respect to the original structure, the design brings back the water within the Piscina Mirabillis in form of waterfall and water basins to enhance the various visual arts. Such interventions like stimulate the sensens by its sound of falling water, temparature, humidity or constence (water). One of the ways to beautify the art is the use of its specular reflection on the still water, creating opportunities for creativity and design. Another place where water plays a crucial role are the skylights in the cistern’s rooftop. By introducing an idea of a waterbody with a glass bottom we expect a very rare impression of being underwater and spectacular reflections together with „god rays” inside the cistern. ARTISTS | The selection of artists highlights the concept of the design as they both often work with objects that recall the passing time. Jamie North’s extraordinary sculptures simultaneously invoke ideas of progress and collapse, industry and ruin, melancholy and triumph. On the other hand, Eduardo Tressoldi, whose near-transparent wire mesh sculptures reinterprets the legacy. The artist inspired us to design a lightweight form architecture on to of solid stone structure. The rooftop, just like his conceptual works, triggers continuous dialogues with space and history.

THE CIRCLE SEMESTR 6 UHASSELT 2019 / 2020 DESIGN STUDIO COURSE REVIT 2020 | RHINO 6 | VRAY | LUMION

The fresh sea breeze on the skin. The warm sand under your feet. Is it all what the city has to offer? Relax. Welcome to Ostend. Meet the new face of the city.

Waking up from daydreaming and enhancing the full potential of a coastline Belgium city a life boosting intervention has been born. In the unique, one of a kind location the new face of Ostend is waiting to be unreveal. This project was not about adding another layer of traditional tourism orientated project. The aim of the design is to link principles that have already existed there. The focus is no longer on materials, individual components or products, but rather the installation of open elements in the building envelope, specifically the building as a connection or the connection joint. Claiming the ambitions on hard evidence, interviews with politics, site visit. Spikom water body acting as a physical barrier, now create a new social gathering point. De Schakel transforms to a hub for watersport activities and the leisure paradise.

1. The aim of The Circle is to break the boundaries of the waterbody and provide a better connection between to sides. The project expands equally towards four directions which is more than linking point A to point B.

1

2. The circle provides a direct connection between places that may benefit from closer collaboration. A comparable persona uses space.

4

3. The circle acts as a quiet alternative to a carorientated bridge. The experience of crossing the water it’s more pleasant.

2

3

4. This shape creates a longer exposition to the openness of the Spikom waterbody. When walking on a footbridge, one can experience a slightly different atmosphere than when walking onshore. 5-6. It was critical to include the island into the design. To enhance what has been given and highlight it. The ring frames the park and the water - with great respect to both. The space inside the circle is dedicated to the brandnew activity in the Ostend - wakeboarding. It takes the greatest advantages from the unique closed waterbody, that now can serve as a wakeboarders paradise.

THE STRUCTURES The circle consists of four main elements on the footbridge. All parametrically designed to create wave-shape shading. The forms are designed in the way to point users’ attention inside or outside the circle.

The circle as a project of the pathway can attract visitor only by its iconic shape. When seen from the bridge nearby, it can invite one to simply experience the walk around. The footbridge can serve as a destination for Sundays’ walks.

The steel structure has been included to follow the path of the circle, not only for aesthetics but as support for the ziplines.

THE SHAPE OF THE STRUCTURE A figurative portrayal of movement can be achieved in many ways for example by repetition with gradual change or a repetitive rhythm with growth (expanding repetition). In this case, close to the flat water surface, fragmentation is highly appreciated. The structure is perceived as a guideline for the eye to follow – simulation. It allows the brain to simulate a movement without executing it. The “shadow gaps” between section frames enhance the shape of each part and rotation and that only adds to the overall experience when passing by. The structure “bites” the bank of the waterbody, leaving a mark on this side of the Spikom that invites to enter The Circle. When repetition has been increased, rhythms are faster - the number of parts is greater, and their frequency is denser.

THE WAKE PARK DYNAMIC The main building hosts all the facilities needed for the Wakepark to work properly. There are a technical room with control panels, classrooms, changing rooms, magazine etc. Between the rides, one can take a break in a cosy bar on the ground level to rest on the upper floor deck with a magnificent view towards the wake park water area. To create a consistent structure, the building seems to twist. Walls together with roof structure give an impression of movement - weave on the Spikom’s water.

ART BASTION | APARTAMENT BUILDING SEMESTR 4 2019 DESIGN STUDIO COURSE REVIT | LUMION | ADOBE PHOTOSHOP

This project entails a housing unit that sets new standards for housing development. Located in Gdansk - a neighbourhood that hosts a music academy, an art school and LPP’s creative working spaces - the project is inspired by the personas of working and studying in close proximity to the housing unit. The project aims to provide apartments for students, artists, creative designers, etc.

Through information gathered from the site analysis, the project uses the materiality and rhythm of the buildings surrounding the plot. The façade of one specific building was the main inspiration to the new housing unit. (see picture on the left). The entire building is like a modern intervention that helps to revive and connect the area.

Plywood model | Scale 1:50

The faรงade of this building was translated to a more modern approach in the new housing unit, using the verticality, division and simplicity as a concept. Here, the new architecture interprets the old in a more modern language that is both simplified and dynamic.

The street elevation is divided vertically, alternating between curtain wall or brick column. The windows are floor-to-ceiling and the brick columns are framed with streel to help enhance the effect of the divisions.

The shape of the site influenced the shape of the building—shaped in a sort of trapeze form—to help maximise the number of dwellings.

The housing unit provides different sized rooms starting from 50m2 up to 120m2. It also includes a collective space which can be used for exhibitions, performances, social interaction or person leisure.

The ground level consists of bicycle parking, rental spaces—facilities like grocery stores, cafeterias, bars—places to help small start-up entrepreneurs. There are also recreational spaces like a multifunctional sports court, a collective garden, a small cinema, a music room and the beach —all located at the rooftop.

GREEN STEPS | URBAN DESIGN SEMESTR 4 2019 URBAN DESIGN COURSE SKETCHUP | VRAY | SLIC3R

The project is located in a sort of “wild landscape. The main idea is to include as much greenery in the project as possible. Therefore, it is situated in an area that is densely filled with trees. The project tries not to disturb the natural environment with its existence but to reflect the characteristics of the surrounding site.

The steps are designed to mimic the existing terrain and provide green terraces throughout. The timber cladding matches the surrounding trees so that the project does not look alien or out of place in the site.

The project is very much family-oriented and equipped for pedestrians as well. The spaces between the buildings are given importance as they provide interesting and functional public spaces. For example, a playground, a seating area with an outdoor grill, and a vegetable garden.

Vehicle parking for cars is on the bottom level, at the edges of the project. This ensures that the spaces between the buildings are car-free and pedestrianised.

Furthermore, the project seems to form fingers towards the waterbody in the urban context. This shape was generated by analysing the sun paths and best views from the resident’s windows. The project is multifunctional and provides a variety of activities (refer to the graphic on the left). There is a shopping wall on the street that is accessible to the public, housing in the centre (semiprivate) with river-style paths that leads to the big waterbody. The path reflects the organic shape of the natural pond and the paths of the recreation and collective spaces on the banks of the pond.

The paths are not designed to be too geometric and structured; they are freer and more organic, and this further enhances the ‘wild’ feel of the site, further integrating the project with its surroundings. The paths, however, are still easily accessible for emergency vehicles. (ambulance, fire engine, etc.)

EN CONJUNTO | MODULE HOUSE 2020 INHAUS COMPETITION REVIT | SKETCHUP | LUMION | PHOTOSHOP

The design aims to provide a great connection between indoor and outdoor. A seamless transition is achieved by floor to ceiling window walls that create strategic openings for landscape and natural daylight. Space is reduced to its essence, simplicity creates perspectives for Nature to catch your eye when it seeks calmness.

Each volume has a distinctive function appropriate to its orientation, and location within the whole structure. Modules are highlighted by divisions made in the rooftop. The building seems to be cut by sunlight. Skylight paths give the atmosphere of being outside as well as dynamic cutting shadows.

Horizontal form not only resonates with the landscape. Having in mind universal design rules we created an accessible house adjusted to clients with special needs by designing a house with neither a staircase nor narrow corridors and doors.

NATURE HOUSE SEMESTR 3 2018 / 2019 DESIGN STUDIO COURSE REVIT 2019 | RHINO 5 | VRAY

This is a residential project designed for 2+2 family and grandparents with additional home practice, private office and library. Designed as an individual project for the third semester BA at the Gdansk University of Technology. The main aim of the design is to create a connection and interaction both with nature and space.

The concept of the design was to highlight and create a relationship between the interior and the landscape. The design also aims to create a heightened experience of spaces through the use of contrast (light and dark, tall and short, open and closed).

Normally architects are most likely to understand spaces, but through this use of dramatic elements to shape experiences within the space (especially the guest entrance), the public is directly confronted with the experience of space, if not directly, then at least subconsciously.

The building begins with two main axes (paths), one for the residents and the other for guests. The paths for the residents begins at the garage. You are then confronted with the central atrium, which is supposed to be a relaxing element. The moment the residents step into the house, they are able to lose themselves in the tranquillity of the view, but cannot immediately enter it due to the glass boundary that surrounds the atrium space. Still, the main point of this axis is to lead residents to the staircase, right by the window opening, which has a direct relationship to nature. The second axis is meant for guests. This path is a lot more dramatic than the previous, reason being, that the inhabitants of the building have all the time to continue exploring and experiencing the spaces while guests are honourable visitors who may not always have the chance to have such an intimate relationship with the building. This axis begins at a high, narrow and brightly lit entrance, then the guests suddenly move to a dark and widspace, then a dark, closed (framed) space, before finally entering the wide, bright room which is the living room. The entrance focuses more on the experience while moving through space. It is an inspiration from Baroque architecture where the sequence of the rooms is more about the experience enfilade.

KickOn is an initiative created by two young, energetic and science-driven students from the Faculty of Architecture at the Gdansk University of Technology that believe in a better tomorrow and a healthier lifestyle. KICKON kick on moving

After several types of research and studies, we discovered that the public and private transportation in our city has been emitting an unacceptable amount of CO2 that has been harming our land for so long. This said we decided to take action and promote the two-wheeled footboard vehicle, better known as a scooter. Not only does a scooter promote a sustainable lifestyle but also helps people become more energetic and productive during their daily commute. On top of that, we chose to provide KickOn customers with their own branded accessories related to arts and technology. Because we are CRAZY about art, design, sustainability and creativity, our Products are 100% Fairtrade cotton, certified with true regards for the people and the planet. So, why don’t you hop on a scooter with us and start experiencing life the way we should experience it? In collaboration with Marcin Kulesza

The project depicts an inspiration from architecture. Taking pictures of existing buildings, playing with perspectives and mirroring them, we aim to provoke people to look at architecture differently.

The selected buildings are often iconic structures but in today’s world, people pass them without noticing or truly seeing them. By creating distortions, we aim to stimulate thinking. We want to change their perspective on how they take in these buildings.

We want it to inspire thoughts, emotions, discussions.

@KAWA_SQUADA

The business branding for the small company Kawa Squad, was created by three coffee lovers including myself. I was in charge of the visual identity of and the design of a system of serving the cold brew coffee from a four-wheel Quad.

Together, we decided to have three different containers inside with three separate taps. We did this because this way, we would be able to provide three, very distinct, special coffees all at once. We also introduced rich flavours of coffee beans from different parts of the globe in our cold brew by setting them next to each other—the contrast in flavours enhances the overall experience.
