color splash
On August 10th, Region 7 hosted a Color Splash where Divisions 3 North, 3 South, 16 East, 16 South, 16 Oasis, 16 North, and 16 West participated! The event had service events, food, drinks, and of course, a colorsplash! We were able to meet new key clubbers through several icebreakers and entertaining activities! Division 3 South sold chamoy fruit cups and had the Thirst Project activity, Carry the Jerry! We cant wait to have another region event!
On August 10th, region 7 had their region colorsplash from 12-3 PM. At the beginning, there was icebreakers so everyone could get to know each other a bit more. One ice breaker was writing three things about yourself on a paper, being given someone else's paper, and then trying to figure out whose paper is whose. Another was a dance battle where everyone was split into four groups and come up with a dance move that no other team had done before. If any move was repeated, that team was eliminated. After the ice breakers, the color splash began. Everyone was split into a few groups of ten and had to play hot potato with an open color packet. Whoever had the color packet once the music stopped, had to get a packet poured on them. Then, everyone was given two of their own packets. One of them was used on whoever they wanted, and the other was thrown up in the air at the same time as everyone else's. After that, everyone was free to grab as many as they liked and throw it on anyone. Once the color packets ran out, it was time for the final event, pieing the LTG's. Anyone could pie their LTG with whipped cream for only a dollar.
Sadie Peters-- Hoover Color Splash
This past weekend (Saturday to be exact several of our board officers attended the Region 7 Color Splash!! Filled with laughter, food, games, and just fun in general. This event made everybody more excited for the events in the near future, for example the August DCM this Saturday. The event started with some check in and hellos but very soon after we had our first game, everybody wrote 3 facts about themselves a piece of paper and gave it to one of our amazing LTGs. After shuffling them around for some time they then again handed them back out hoping everybody would get somebody different. It caused people to open up and talk to others and find their cards or make new friends and learn more about each other. It was so fun and just started everything off with a bang. Following that game we went straight into our second game involving dance.
There were 4 groups called ponchos on each diagonal of a diamond. For about 2 minutes we had to come up with some fast dance moves to beat the other ponchos or “teams”. The catch is you can't copy a dance move, once used/done it can never be done again by anybody. Slowly our groups became smaller considering that rule and after the final battle the winning Poncho was number 1! No matter who won, the game itself brought laughter and people out of their comfort zone!
After a short 15 minute break we started to play the genuine COLOR GAMES. To start the color part of strong we played hot potato with a packet of color, which in fact was opened, everybody threw it around getting dirty but when the music stops somebody ends up with it and that can never be good. The person who ends up with it has to go to the front of the area and get a splash of color on them by one of our LTGs. No matter how dirty it was, everybody had a Blast! After playing a couple games of hot potato everybody got in line to get a color packet, once everybody had one we all gathered and threw it all in the air creating a large rainbow cloud. Once everybody got their photos people were running to color each other, making tik toks, or continuing to take photos. After some time we went back to the area with the chairs and food. Before ending the day off we had one more “game”, where we could pay 1$ to pie a LTG and of course most did. Sticky and colorful everybody had a blast and is excited for events in the near future!! Thank you to everybody who came to support, help, or just have fun!!
On August 11, four of Eagle Rock High School's executive board members assisted Eagle Rock Valley Historic Society in a community event. In presence we had Tessa Yee, Max Robinson, Vance Grimes, and myself, Leanne Garion. This event consisted of selling ice cream and baked goods, as well as setting up and cleaning up. It not only served as a bonding opportunity for us, but a way to connect to the community as well.
