Samaritan's Purse This November we teamed up with an organization called Samaritans Purse. We volunteered in what is known as Operation Christmas Child. Basically, you buy gifts for children in third world countries who don't have as much as we do. We gift the children with toys, as well as basic necessities like deodorant and pencils. What makes this event even cooler is that your presents go into a shoebox and get shipped to who you're giving your present to. Each volunteer chose whether to gift to a boy or girl. There were ages to chose from as well such as 3 -5, 6-9, 10-13. Once I chose who I wanted to gift to, I picked my gifts! I chose a boy who was 3-5 years old and gifted him with mini toy cars, socks, a bar of soap, and a toothbrush. Mrs. Quijas, the leadership teacher collected all the boxes and they were picked up by the organization that same day. It was a really nice feeling knowing that I helped a child in need!
