Officer Training Conference (OTC) June 25, 2016 Fairfield Cordelia Library

At DCON 2016, MITA Key Club held a booth at the service expo on Friday night. Members running the booth were there in hopes of collecting donations for their sponsored student in Guatemala, Jeremias. Students in Guatemala have to pay tuition -- expensive tuition -- just to go to receive an education. Members at MITA know just how important it is for everyone to have an education, which is why they have chose to advocate for this organization and sponsor their student. This fundraiser will continue throughout the rest of April and proceeds will continue go towards Jeremias’ education.

MITA Eco-Crew

The MITA Key Club is home to a sub-club called EcoCrew. Eco-crew’s main focus is to promote environmental awareness and protection throughout the school and community. Members of the club participate in several activities each day after school ranging from planting vegetables to picking up litter. They are most known on campus for their various recycling campaigns.

To help supervise the event, Mary Farmer Elementary School enlisted the help of Key Club. Key Club members arrived at the school and were assigned to different stations to supervise the kids. On top of supervision, key clubbers participated in board games with the kids as well as read them their favorite books, and help serve spaghetti dinner.
