KIWANIS FAMILY HOUSE
The mission of the Kiwanis Family House is to provide temporary housing and support to families of seriously ill or injured children and adults being treated at University of California, Davis, Medical Center, Sacramento. Their values are guided by the Kiwanis Service Motto: “Serving the Children of the World�.
Patients and along with their families often travel long distances to receive treatment at the UC Davis Medical Center and finding low-cost housing near the hospital can be important to these families, The Kiwanis Family House offers inexpensive family accommodations and housing for these patients and their families. The KFH also has free internet access, free long distance telephone calls, spiritual counseling, free parking and a free shuttle bus to the hospital for patients staying.

Although the KFH is not a preferred charity of the CNH District, here are ways you can support the organization
DONATE: You can a single donation of any amount, donate on a recurring basis, or donate in honor of or in memory of someone BUY A BRICK: When you buy a Kiwanis Family House Brick it will be used to pave the patio in the Kiwanis Family House. You can purchase a brick on the KFH webste HOST AN AWAKE-A-THON: Of course it is not possible to hold an awake-a-thon at this current time because of the COVID-19 pandemic but it could be a great way to raise money for the KFH in the future. SAVEMART SHARES CARD: SaveMart Supermarkets, FoodMAXX, S-Mart Foods and Lucky offer the S.H.A.R.E.S. program to help benefit the Kiwanis Family House every time you shop. With the S.H.A.R.E.S. program, your purchases generate a 3% commission for the Family House.

With the possibility that Key Club could be virtual for the next few years, it is important that all Key Club members understand the importance of Safekey. On our division website (http://d8ballers.weebly.com/) a new tab has been recently placed that provides information on Safekey, cyber-bullying, internet identity, and more.

CRANES FOR CANCER

¨Some of our members (Armijo) participated in November's Division Wide Service event and folded some cranes to support 'Cranes for Cancer'. And for the folding cranes for cancer event, they taught us how to fold paper cranes and we just folded as many as we could and then mailed it to a certain place.¨

BIRTHDAY
CARD WRITING On November 8th from 2-3pm, 5 members from Benicia gathered on google meets to create birthday cards for Frances Estey who turned 100 this year.
NOVEMBER SOCIAL
American Canyon held an additional zoom meeting to continue making cranes for cancer and for socializing with club members. They were able to make 60 cranes during this social.

BENICIA
TREE PLANTING Partnering with the Benicia Tree Foundation, Benicia Key Club members helped plant new native trees such as Coast Live Oak, Blue Oak, and California Buckeye along I-780 in Benicia on a Saturday morning for 3 hours. There were 17 volunteers who took part in planting, staking, and mulching the trees.
CARDS FOR
HEALTHCARE WORKERS
A few months ago on October 11th Benicia club members gather on google meets to create cards for healthcare workers. The cards were then delivered a few weeks later to North Bay Pediatrics, Kaiser Oakland, and Kaiser Vallejo.
