How’s it rollin’, Ballers? Welcome to the first newsletter of the term! Can you believe that the 2022-23 term has already begun? Neither can I! My name is Yuna Bi, and I am beyond excited to be serving as YOUR Lieutenant Governor! My Key Club journey began, much like you all, as a member of my home club, Benicia Key Club. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to serve as Benicia Key Club Secretary, Division Fundraising Coordinator, and Division Executive Assistant. This term, I look forward to meeting and connecting with each and every one of you through Division, Region, District events, and more! But until then, here’s a few fun facts about me: 1. I LOVE cats VERY much and I have a cat named Jazzy! 2. I also have a bunny whom I adore named Frosty! 3. I like to figure skate and play piano in my free time:)

Rolling into Service,

District Convention 2022 was an overwhelming success! From bonding during region sessions, to electing the new District Executives, to watching BOTH AJ Rafael and GinGin (District Administrator Doug Gin's son) perform on stage, it's safe to say that this DCON will go down in history. I could not be prouder to celebrate Division 8's accomplishments, including receiving the MOST IMPROVED DIVISION award!

AMERICAN CANYON: Kiwanis Crab Feed Prep Yao Yanez, American Canyon Helping at the Kiwanis Crab Feed Prep was definitely an experience. There were only a few adults and students from the high school which made the process very long. It wasn't too bad however. Because we were a small group, everyone got to know each other very quickly. One memorable task was making the boxes where the food was going to be put in. I remember my partner and I efficiently taping and folding the cardboard boxes and stacking them up as high as possible. After our shift, we celebrated by eating pizza from Round Table. Overall, the event was mostly us busy with our task, but the friendship that came out of it was valuable to me. 09

RODRIGUEZ: Campus Clean-Up Anika Yogi & Hannah Reyes

Rodriguez has a monthly tradition of holding a campus cleanup! This month our turnout was especially successful thanks to our environmental club. Together, we collected many bags of trash and left our campus cleaner than before. This event brought our community together helped bring new members to our club.

CHARITY SPOTLIGHT: UNICEF: Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus (MNT) From 2010 to 2020, Kiwanis International and UNICEF joined forces to help eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus (MNT) worldwide. This historic initiative, called The Eliminate Project, protected the lives of babies and mothers all over the globe and aimed to help put an end to this cruel, centuries-old disease. Even though the Eliminate Project ended, UNICEF continues fighting MNT and other world issues that endanger children. For more information about UNICEF, visit: https://www.unicef.org/
