NOVEMBER 2021 ISSUE

Hello my beautiful ninjas! I hope that everyone has had a good start to October. This month is going to be extremely busy, and so I hope that everyone is planning to do as much as they can in key club, which includes spirit sessions for region training conference and service events. I’m excited to get close to each and everyone of you guys.

As October is known for the spooky season, it’s also known for the start of FALL RALLY SOUTH SEASON!!! Let’s get our ninja pride up before heading over to six flags in November to compete against our fellow divisions. I hope that each and everyone of you guys will learn how to seize the moment and learn from your experiences whether it be good ones or bad ones. That is all from me. If you want to be featured in the newsletter, fill out this form at tinyurl.com/d13ssubmissions2122! Kickin’ for Service,

NISHA PATEL | HISTORIAN | POLYTECHNIC On Friday, September 24th we held an all-day fundraiser at Sweet Retreats at 924 E Pacific Coast Hwy, Long Beach CA 90806, which is a donut shop and cafe right next to Poly High school! Poly Key clubbers came to Sweet Retreat throughout the day to get drinks and donuts, with 20% of every member’s order going to the fundraiser. We had an incredibly successful fundraiser as we raised $100 for PTP (Pediatric Trauma Program)! We originally made around $87 in member sales but Srey, Sweet Retreats’ owner, was so sweet (excuse the pun) and rounded up to $100 for us!!

UNZILLA JAMIL | HISTORIAN | SATO On September 25, Division 13 South held its very own night market! With 2019's Night-Market having an amazing turnout, the 2021 Night Market had just as amazing a turnout. Sato Key Club sold Boba and Raising Cane's, and sold out really fast! With many of our new members attending, we were able to see so many happy smiles during DCM. We are thrilled to see our members' spirit at the next DCM!!

POLYTECHNIC | PIA HAO What’s up ninjas!! This month we kept it pretty chill as we’re all in the 100 meter dash to the end of school! We planned a service week to keep up them service hours even with the stress of APs and finals and a joint social with Millikan, Sato, and Wilson which kinda popped off!1!1 We had a wonderful 30 people attend the social and garnered quite a bit of of hours from our May the Service Be with you Week. We’ll be keeping it chill this month as well to recoup from school but we do have some fun activities planned for the Summer so be in the lookout! Thank you and HIYA!

SATO | DENNIS LAM What’s popping ninjas? My name Ronald Ourng and I proudly serve as Sato Key Clubs President for the 2021 2022 term. For the past month Sato key club has really been busy with recruiting and volunteering at the Community Table Food Bank, the resource fairs at both Cooldridge and MLK park, the Surfrider beach cleanup, and participated in the school supply drive at last dcm! Sato Key Club has also had their club rush in the past month in which we had over 130 sign ups, which is like over 1/3 of the whole school. As well as our first general meeting in which over 150 attendees attended. Sato key club has also been collecting their dues, so far we have over 50 dues paid members and we are expecting more people to pay throughout the next week. So far this term Sato key club has over 400 service hours! I’m so excited to see our members serve their community this term!
