LETTER FROM THE LTG Hello White Tigers, I hope that your summer has been BEEyond amazing and shining as bright as the summer sun with service. I loved seeing so many of you at beach cleanup and I hope you all had a lot of fun. The beach is one of my favorite places to go and just relax. It is my favorite region event that we have and the s'mores make it all the better. If you were not able to go to beach cleanup and want to make a donation for a region hoodie, please contact me. As summer starts to come to an end, start getting ready for the school year. The beginning of a new school year can be stressful, but for Key Club it is opportunity. Start thinking of ways to recruit new members, especially the incoming freshman. If you ever need anything or want to talk I am here for you. School may be starting, but I will always make time for my Division 16 family!

Roaring with Love, Tyler Szeto Division 16 Lieutenant Governor 2014-15

LETTER FROM THE EDITOR Hey White Tigers! We’re now in the middle of our break! I hope you all enjoyed the Region Beach Clean-up. It was really nice to see you all again and meet new faces at the event. Although it was hard picking up trash under the hot sun, but I believe that we all had fun working together as one Ohana. I hope you not only bonded with other White Tigers but also with the Koalas, Wolves, Starfishes, and the Puffer fishes. For those of you, who weren’t able to attend the Beach Clean-up, don’t be sad, since this edition of newsletter will cover the event in dept so that you won’t be left out. This newsletter will also include the specialized ICON cover by yours truly, our lovely D16 LTG. There will also be a photo break down of June DCM if you happened to miss so keep on reading for that as well. I hope you all enjoy your rest of summer and see you all next time! Sincerely, YeChan Lee Division 16 News Editor

DISTRICT NEWS International Convention By Tyler Szeto This year’s Key Club International Convention was held in Anaheim, California, right here in the CNH District from July 2-6, 2014. Key Clubbers from all around the world joined together for these four days to enhance their leadership skills, learn more about the Eliminate Project and the International level and how it all works, and much more. Just by talking to the people there from different parts of the country and even people outside the U.S., members got a glimpse of what the different districts are like and how they differ from the CNH District. At the House of Delegates, the 2014-15 International Board was elected and five out of the six proposed amendments were passed. The following people were elected: Maria Palazzolo as International President; Kevin Zhang as International Vice President; and Jenalee Beazley, Gary Cheng, Renisha Daley, Tashrima Hossain, Laken Kelly, Nicole Lema, Rip Livingston, Robbie Mathis, Shane Meyers, Liz Moore, and Barry Seng as the International Trustees. Due to the passing of these amendments, the dues have been raised 50 cents, the requirements to become a district have changed, more schools can now charter a Key Club, and the benefits of being an honorary member have changed. We all can’t wait for ICON 2015 which will be a combination of Kiwanis, Circle K, and Key Club celebrating a year of service, leadership, and family in the headquarters of Key Club International.

Region NEWS Region 7 Beach Clean-up On July 19th, Region 7 met up at Dockweiler Beach to hold its annual Beach Clean-up. The even started at 9AM and lasted until 6PM. The trash pick-up began around 10AM and lasted for an hour. The Key Clubbers were divided into small groups and each group went to different parts of the beach to pick up wastes left by visitors. After the trash pick-up was over, Key Clubbers had the chance to rest and enjoy lunch. Key Clubbers who bought their lunch were given the selection of various sandwiches to choose.

After lunch, each Division had their own DCM’s. During D16’sDCM, a spirit battled occurred with the D25E Koalas. Although there was no definite winner, all Key Clubber had fun showing his or her spirit to each other. The Region 7 Hoodies were given out and sold to Key Clubbers after the DCM’s were over. Region 7 Key Clubbers were very satisfied with the design. The even ended with a smores and hotdog party. Photos By Jackson Nguyen

DIVISON NEWS JUNE DCM & FUNDRAISER On June 21st, the June DCM was held in McCambridge Park in Burbank from 2:30 – 4:30PM. The DCM included fun ice breaker that involved splitting the group into two teams. The teams went through series of Rock Paper Scissors and tags in order to win. After the ice breaker White tigers had discussions about the newly chartered school and the future events such as the Aktion Club Car Wash and the Region 7 Beach Clean-up. Our LTG, Tyler Szeto carefully went over how the Beach Clean-up will carry out. At the end of DCM, there was a water balloon fundraiser to raise money for Project Eliminate. Many White Tigers brought bags and bags of quarters to spend on water balloons. The “victims” of the fundraiser were the LTG, Tyler Szeto, and the Presidents of D16 Clubs: Rachel Trujillo, Christopher Lingat, Vincent Vu, and Marlon Sevilla. To the two people who bought the most water balloons, Tyler herself, gave them a wonderful gift. In the end, the Eliminate fundraiser raised a total of $67.80. The DCM and the fundraiser concluded with an Otter Pop party.
