feb, The D16 February / Valentine Issue has arrived! Yay! In this fun-filled newsletter, you can expect a lot of great things including division news, region news, upcoming events, past events, and more info about DCON. ARE YOU READY TO ROAR AT DCON TIGERS? I hope you are because it’s coming by fast. So get ready to show your spirit! In this month’s newsletter, will also be info on the basics of DCON, what you should and should not do, and what you can do to have fun and keep yourself and others around you safe On another note, Happy Valentine’s Day, dears! I hope you all had a great one with your friends, family, and valentines^^
To those feel you! Haha, you were not the only one eating nutella and watching who didn’t have a lovely valentine to spend their day with, watching kdramas Thursday night. But after a couple spoonfuls of nutella, I realized it’s not just spending time with one valentine that makes up Valentine’s Day. St. Valentine was a person who loved all- and his will to love and will to show it was what made Valentine’s Day so special. So don’t get discouraged tigers! Don’t have a special someone this year? Look around you; you have people who love you every day of the year.
And they love YOU. remember that you are all BEE-utiful! & you are all hot pots of rice that don’t need no side-dish.

This issue was personally a lot of fun to make, as I have put in cool pick-up lines to use next year, introductions to the new officer boards of d16, (CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL NEW OFFICERS, BY THE WAY), and more fun Valentine’s Day activities! But to make this issue extra, extra special, I have attached heart keys you can give to someone- be it a Key Clubber or non- Key Clubber. It can be anyone who holds a key to your heart. It’s after Valentine’s Day, but people deserve to love and be loved every day of the year. I hope you enjoy the rest of
this issue as well! Look forward to the next one, the MARCH 2013 issue which comes out on March 20.
Hart High School, from the Santa Clarita valley, held a collection of unwanted and old prescribed glasses. They were collected from Key Clubbers at Hart High School and Key Clubbers from the region during Ohana Night. The collection of these glasses goes to the organization, the Lions Club. The Lions Club is an international organization that collects and recycles glasses and gives them to someone else who needs them. The donated glasses go to children, adults, and anyone who needs a new pair of glasses.
Herbert Hoover High School Choir from division 3 south gave Key Clubbers the opportunity to order Singing Valentines, in which members of Hoover High School sang to whomever you wanted over the phone to display a special valentine message from you for $3. “It’s an amazing opportunity to do such a thing because we brighten people’s lives and days by singing to them, I know it seems miniscule but it goes a long way into making some one happy. Caring, in fact, is our way of life.”

― Region 7 held their last region event of the year, “Ohana Night.” The event involved leis, coconut bras, and fruit punch. Who attended this wild night? Division 16 White Tigers, Divisioni 25 East Pufferfish, Division 25 West Koalas, Division 3 South Wolves, and Division 3 North Starfish. The region bonded over dodgeball games, fun team activities, ltg trivia, and a dance.

Congratulations! To our very own d16 executive assistant, Hogan Tran, for being selected as one of the 8 lucky volunteers who assist the district’s SAA coordinators
An SAA, Sergeant at Arms Coordinator has the responsibility to lead CNH Key Clubbers, and to maintain the safety and following of rules at the yearly District Convention DCON. The Sergeant at Arms Coordinator not only has the duty of making sure Key Club integrity is upheld, but also works and communicates with board members, advisors, executive officers, promotes Key Club, is a good example for fellow Key Clubbers to follow, and fulfills all directives established by the District Governor. The 8 SAA Captains have the honor of working with SAA coordinators and helping to make sure DCON is the best it can BEE for Key Clubbers to enjoy.
