SLOHS Key Club earned club of the month in our division at our January DCM. Thank you to our advisors and members who have put in continuous effort this year despite all odds. Let's continue to put our all into planning service events for our community and working with the resources we have! We are excited to begin a new month and new term and encourage continued participation from all of our members.

We were very successful in our last club event making dog toys, and we have the idea to meet up again to make baby hats to donate to our local hospital. We have several looms to use, and will be learning the simple pattern. We are thinking of partnering with the Chronicles of Yarnia club on our campus and are brainstorming other ways to supply the yarn needed to make the bonnets. We will be finalizing our decision at our next few club meetings.

Feeding the Homeless

On February 9th many of our Key Clubbers volunteered at our Good Samaritan Shelter and fed the homeless. Our volunteers worked for over an hour and we had about 10 volunteers working at the event. The event itself consisted of our volunteers serving food and drinks to those in need in our community. At the event, volunteers got to provide and give back to their community and engage in a positive and helpful environment. All of the Key Clubbers enjoyed this event and are looking forward to future service.

Baby Hats

As we get closer to the spring season, our Righetti Key Club has continued to give our members the opportunity to help the community. We have continued to have weekly meetings in order to relay information to our members to keep them updated. As for our service events, we were able to provide our members with a service event on February 6. In this, they were tasked with making baby hats for the Marian Hospital here in Santa Maria. It was a very fun and engaging event as we were able to let our creative sides take over to knit little hats! Upcoming, we have planned a service event on February 12 in which members will be participating in a road clean up in the Jersey Mike's Subs parking lot. We have been getting reports that the road/lot is full of trash and we took that opportunity as a way to make a service event. We hope to continue serving our community and help out as much as we can!
