Peter Daniels Bio

Peter Daniels Artist Peter Daniels was born in New Westminister in BC Canada in 1949. He attended High School in both White Rock and Dawson Creek. His College days began at Kootneay School of Art in Nelson B. C .Canada where he received a Commercial Art Certificate, a Fine Art Certificate, and a Fine Art Diploma. Peter then went onto Notre Dame University where he graduated with a BFA. During his studies at the Art School and University, he was awarded three O. F. Y. Grants to setup and teach art seminars around various rural communities in British Columbia.

Upon completion of his University training, Peter went on to teach art at St. Michael’s University School in Victoria B. C. where he lived and acted as a House Parent. Peter next was employed by the Solicitor General’s Department where he acted as an Art Instructor at Matsqui Institution. He left teaching in 1981 to pursue his art career full time, where his studio was located in North Surrey B. C. This was a turning point, where Peter designed over 70000 items in Porcelain and Stoneware, reaching a world market for his art. In 1986 his pottery was selected by the Department of External Affairs for their permanent collection. By 1987, Peter had begun watercolour and acrylic painting, he was self published into limited edition prints and art cards of his paintings. Next came a huge break for Peter where he became a distributor for the art publishing industry and he travelled extensively promoting North American artists adjacent to his art throughout Canada and into the U. S. A. .

In 1999, Peter Daniels was nominated for the Saidye Bronftman Award of Excellence in Ceramics. A change started for Peter in this time, he began to develop his skills in Film and TV. By the year 2000, Peter was working on many Films starting as a stand-in, then some stunt work, back ground, principal, and voice over. Currently Peter has completed his fourth studio, where he has a hot glass studio, a pottery studio, sculpting studio and painting studio. A feature film on Peter’s career is being readied for production and release is in the near future.

Peter has representation at various galleries through out the world and his studio acts as a base.
