Creative Philosophy: My aesthetic concerns are focused on paying attention to the balance between our limitations and being limitless through the play of constructed proportion, shape, and texture. This is my attempt to create volume without weight and tension within space. I believe it is in this gap that the essence of the human spirit exists. My intention is to push ‘normal standards’ of understanding; to reveal human experiences including our individual and collective struggles with identity, environment, our internal and external landscape and the exposure of hidden desires. Teaching Philosophy: It is important to me to be a mentor in the capacity of a leader, an educator, an artist and a woman. I believe communication begins with listening, truly listening to what is said. This allows me to build relationships. For me effective teaching is planned and conducted from the learners point of view and is a process of socializing students into new behavioral norms and ways of working.
