The confrontation happened about 12:30 a.m. Saturday at the Aggie Mart at the intersection of Highway 2 and County road 512, where several individuals had met, apparently with the intention to fight. Club hosts flower show BY L.A. STORY lastory@dailycorinthian.com

The Little Garden Club of Corinth celebrates the “Bunnitful” World of Beatrix Potter with a Standard Flower and Horticulture Show. The flower show will be held from 2 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday at the Historic Coliseum Civic Center located at 404 Taylor Street. Admission is $10 per person and proceeds from the show go toward the restoration of the Coliseum garden in the lot next to the Coliseum. Little Garden Club President Melanie Brose said the Beatrix Potter theme had special meaning. “It is the 150th anniversary of Beatrix Potter and with it also being springtime, it made it a fun time to use the Beatrix Potter theme,” said Brose. Being that the Little Garden Club is a federated club, the show will be judged by federated judges and must meet the criteria. Brose pointed out that the Little Garden Club is the only federated club in Corinth.

The flower show will take place in the Coliseum foyer and lobby and the horticulture show will take place on the stage. Phyllis Rogers, Little Garden Club publicity chairperson, said there will be flower arrangements that are inspired by the Beatrix Potter theme. She said there will be several different categories, including a wreath categoPlease see SHOW | 5
