God is a god of second chances. Fans of Pat Trainum can expect to see the message in her latest romance/suspense book – “Silence in the Dark.” “Silence in the Dark” is the final of a four-book series penned by Trainum under her maiden name of Patricia Bradley. “God doesn’t leave us,” said the author. “He never moves … He is always there waiting for us to come back.” Set in Logan Point, Mississippi, “Silence in the Dark” centers around the relationship of Bailey Adams and ex-fiancee Danny Maxwell. Bailey broke off the engagement and left Logan Point two years ago for the mission field of Mexico. Now ready to return to the United States, Bailey encounters a problem. “She is running for her life,” said Trainum. Bailey is running from someone, she just doesn’t know who. Danny is her only chance of escaping the people chasing her and getting back to Logan Point. “The book is very fast-paced with lots of twists and turns,” added the author. “Readers have told me they didn’t want it to end.” Locals can get their copy of “Silence in the Dark” on Saturday at Books-A-Million in the Southgate Shopping Center. Community members are gathering today to discuss issues facing the South Corinth area. A town hall meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club of Corinth in response to gang-related crime and other concerns about the community’s youth. “With these events happening in the community, you see all of these people putting these great ideas up on Facebook,” said Corinth Unit Di-
rector Trecee Hughey. “This is an opportunity to come together with one voice and a collaborative effort to make a difference and a change in the community.” The event will include a couple of speakers. Representing the youth voice, Lenard Chambers, who is preparing to go into the military, will talk about challenges he has faced in his life. It’s important for youth to hear those messages from a relatable voice, Please see CONCERNS | 2A
