Regional Park seeks big budget hike BY JEBB JOHNSTON jjohnston@dailycorinthian.com

With Crossroads Regional Park’s expansion nearing completion, city and county leaders are wrestling with how to

meet the budgetary demands of a complex that is roughly doubling in size. Park Director Ray Holloway is asking the Corinth Board of Mayor and Aldermen and the

Alcorn County Board of Supervisors for significant funding increases in the new fiscal year beginning Oct. 1. The two boards are currently formulating budgets for the coming year.

“The new complex is going to offer so much opportunities,” Holloway told supervisors in a Thursday budget work session. “It has so much great potential. You have no idea.”

“There are a couple of thousand dollars in each account, but there are also some unpaid invoices still out.”

He expects sports participation to experience strong growth and for the park to pick up some tournament play in Please see PARK | 6A
