Rienzi Elementary School will soon belong to the Town of Rienzi. The decision was made earlier this week by the Alcorn School District Board of Education to hand over a quick claim deed on a portion of district-owned land to the Town of Rienzi. The vote met no opposition. In August, school board attorney Arch Bullard said the district only owned “one tract of land in Rienzi which has road frontage and school buildings.” The second tract with some portion of a building had already reverted to the Town of Rienzi. The board also voted to give a bill of sale to the town on remaining personal property inside the school buildings. No decision was made public concerning Glendale school property. A source close to the situation said the district is currently “in talks” with both the Town of Glen and a commercial business owner about the sale of the property. In other board news: • The Alcorn County Advisory Council honored three students prior to the board meeting. Biggersville Elementary School fourth-grader Brandon Jenkins, Kossuth Middle School fifth grader Ally Morgan and Alcorn Central High School senior Abbie Fields were each selected for recognition by the P16. Latch is married to Jessica, and they have three children — Ainsley, 5, Hadley, 3, and Bentley, 1.

also be a best-decorated tent contest with the winner receiving a $500 gift card from Roger’s and Gardner’s Supermarkets. ■ Booneville Fall Festival continues Friday with the PBJ Happee Days Shows Carnival by the courthouse on College Street from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Arm bands are $15.
