Volunteers from a Corinth church are working daily to prepare for an upcoming program that will take participants back in time to the very rst Christmas. Christmas ALIVE: A Living Christmas Experience will begin on Friday, Dec. 16, at the First Presbyterian Church of Corinth. Over 130 church volunteers are dedicating their hours and abilities to this new program which will take participants through a series of key scenes from the Nativity of Jesus. The scenes will be brought to life with elaborate sets, lighting, sound and live animals. Kimberly and Brett Grantham — a married couple who share the duties of directing First Presbyterian ’s Intergenerational Ministry — came up with the idea for Christmas ALIVE after praying for God ’s guidance in developing a new way for their church to celebrate Christmas. They came up with two objectives. First, to portray as accurately as possible not just the Nativity, but the events leading up to the birth of Christ and the events following. Second, they wanted it to include the whole church — with a role for everyone who wanted to volunteer. “It ’s exciting in the church because everyone has a place to be involved, ” Kimberly said. Because of limited parking at First Presbyterian, participants will park at the SportsPlex, where Please see ALIVE | 2
