MARSH TOWN — Some are calling it the Christmas Eve miracle. Dr. David Chase and four family members escaped serious injury after their singleengine turboprop plane went down shortly after takeoff from the Corinth-Alcorn County Airport on Christmas Eve morning. The 8:45 a.m. Dec. 24 crash landing happened just south of the Corinth-Alcorn County Airport on County Road 504 just off Highway 2. Alcorn County Emergency Management Director Ricky Gibens said the total loss wreckage was loaded onto a flatbed truck about noon Christmas Day to be transported to a recovery team hangar in Springfield, Tenn., where officials from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will determine the malfunction which caused the crash landing. “They will determine the cause of the crash,” he said.
