Perry, Nadler to address sexual assault at town hall By Chacour Koop Special Projects Reporter Chelsea Eversole does not want the dialogue silenced — she wants students and faculty to voice concerns about sexual assault at Eastern. The dialogue will continue at 7 p.m on Thursday in Lumpkin Auditorium when President Bill Perry, Dan Nadler, the vice president for student affairs, and other university employees will take questions at a town hall meeting addressing the climate of sexual assault at Eastern. Eversole, a junior psychology major, is the co-president of the Women’s Empowerment League — the group organizing the forum. Lisa Moyer, a family and consumer sciences professor, will moderate the town hall meeting, and Roxane Gay, an English professor, will be a panel member. Eversole said she invited the Universi-

She said she can tell there is improvement because more people know about the Sexual Assault Counseling and Information Service located in the basement of Lawson Hall, but there is more work to be done. She said the town hall meeting Thursday is about reminding people there is still hope for change about sexual assault reporting at Eastern. “We’ve been handed an opportunity to make some change on this campus, and it’s important we do not screw it up,” Ludlow said. “We could be the model for other schools our size.” Chacour Koop can be reached at 581-2812 or cmkoop@eiu.edu.
