News & Dish from NYC and Milan
report
Glamazon Alert! Donatella’s new goddesses emerged from their galaxy of hotness covered in stars, studs, starfish and superstardom, in Grecian whites, sea-pastels, and baroque takes on lucite. Pure blonde! Pure Donatella. Sublime.
At VeRsAce HEIDI KLUM, IS THAT YOU? What was the model/ mogul doing front row at Versace? Checking out a cool iPad app, it appears. The Project Runway starlet also caught up with her old friend Donatella backstage for a quick photo op.

A MOMENT WITH... Fendi campaign star Anja Rubik
At FeNDI
You’re surrounded by superfans! Why, is that rare? I’ve been in the Fendi ads for quite a few seasons. It’s intelligent fashion for a very intelligent woman. She doesn’t have to walk around naked! Love your hair. Karl drew it on his iPad to show (hairstylist) Sam (McKnight). Does hanging with Karl get old? Oh, no. But he gets bored very, very easily—you have to keep him entertained all the time. He has this amazing ability to do 100 things at once, and he remembers everything. I try to be a sponge and absorb as much as possible.
Intriguing Beverage Alert!

After the show, Fendi’s accessories Kaiserdesigner Silvia Fendi was drinking Moët approved! & Chandon…but she had bigger plans for celebration. “After I finish this glass of champagne, I’m going to have a Diet Coke!” she said. Looks like she’s picked up Fendi RTW designer Karl Lagerfeld’s not-so-secret obsession.

Why are you here at prada? I’m very good friends with Ingrid [Sischy] and Sandy [Brant], and they were kind enough to sneak me in backstage, which was very exciting. I’m still a star struck queen at heart! Afterwards, I’m performing at the amfAR gala. I did it once before, and it was terribly fun and elegant and exciting, so they got me again! The first show I ever did in Milan was a disaster, but now, I always do very well. The Italians love music! But I can’t stay here too long, because I put on a pound an hour. Ha! Nice venue for a prada show, right? It’s amazing. I heard they are building a village somewhere. A prada village? That’s what I heard. Maybe I’ll live in Prada world!

Miuccia’s Magic, eXpLAINeD
“There are always surprises. You ain’t gonna tell Baby what to do here. Miuccia always has a really brilliant ability to hit the nail on the zeitgeist. She will come and throw a left hook, and it changes the conversation about fashion.” —Ingrid Sischy, international editor, Vanity Fair

congrats on your recent nuptials, michael! How’s married life? Married life is treating me just as well as before I was legally married. We were fully committed to one another for a very long time. People keep asking me when we’re going on a honeymoon, and, well, we take a lot of fabulous vacations all the time! I’d like to see the Defense of Marriage Act repealed, so our marriage is recognized generally. We’re not there yet. Has marriage affected your vitamin D levels? I’m naturally glowing. Well, we got married in the sun on the beach, so maybe that’s it. Now, onto business: what’s the story with your mmK line? Whether it’s a keychain or a sable coat, everything has to have the same taste level, with the same amount of sophistication. Michael Michael Kors is more itemoriented: that customer tends to buy one piece and wear it her own way, while the collection customer quite often wears more of a head-to-toe look. How does your approach differ between the two, exactly? For MMK, we’ll play around with prints that aren’t as long-term. You can have a little bit more fun when it’s a little bit more disposable. We have such a broad range of people that wear the clothes, and Michael Michael Kors broadens the range even further. Do you have distinct design processes for each line? No. If there’s a way I can give people a more accessible version of something from the collection, I will!

MArC JACOBS
Marc Jacobs embraces longtime bestie Sofia Coppola. Adore!
THINGS TO DISCUSS: IS MARC JACOBS GOING TO DIOR? The storied French house has been sans creative director since March, when then-designer John Galliano’s offensive outburst at a Paris café led to his dismissal. According to reports, after months of deliberation, Dior owner LVMH is planning to tap Jacobs, who currently designs for Louis Vuitton in addition to his eponymous collection, to take the top spot Dior. The talks are allegedly at the salary negotiation stage, so expect an announcement soon. So which designer will end up at Vuitton? Sources point to Phoebe Philo, who currently designs LVMH-owned Céline. How to keep it all straight?

GOT VEINS?
Get the Scoop! tell us about the center. Through the vision of Mark Adelman, MD, Chief of Vascular Surgery and Lowell Kabnick, MD, Director of NYU Vein Center, the need, development and establishment of the first University Vein Center in New York occurred at NYU in 2007. This center was developed with the patient in mind as a complete Vein Center, with expertise in all areas of venous diagnosis and treatment. why me? Heredity is the number one contributing factor causing varicose and spider veins. Women are more likely to suffer from these abnormal leg veins. More than 50 million Americans suffer from some form of venous disorder. Hormonal factors including puberty, pregnancy, menopause, the use of birth control pills, estrogen, and progesterone can affect the disease process. Other factors that can accelerate and aggravate the appearance of veins beyond gravity and age, include pregnancy, leg injury, obesity, lack of exercise, weight fluctuation, constriction, and long periods of sitting or standing.
