I-94 Sure Step Speedway gives race fans roaring summer entertainment

Anew season of racing action is getting underway at I-94 Sure Step Speedway in Fergus Falls.

Track owner Don Shaw said there are a few new things that race fans will see this year. Among them, are a few new sponsors and new signs above the backstretch. Concessions are also greatly improved with a lot of good food choices,

As in the past, there will be a few international drivers, and many from out of state coming to I-94 this season, Shaw stated, “I know Shane Edginton is coming down with some Late Models from Winnipeg, I think one or two other Canadian guys are coming down, they actually moved to states, so they could race this year.”

Shaw added, “Seven classes will be represented in the upcoming doubleheader on Friday and Saturday including Limited Late Model, Short Tracker,WISSOTA Late Model, WISSOTA Midwest Mods, WISSOTA Modifieds,WISSOTA Street Stock.and WISSOTA Super Stock. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and racing starts at 7 p.m.”

I-94 Sure Step Speedway in Fergus Falls also has lots of good ticket options as well. General admission tickets for adults (ages 11 and up) is $15, while children 10 and under are free. Seniors ages 65 and up are only $12, Shaw said the always popular tailgate option is back. For $35 you can get one tailgate spot

Some upcoming events to look forward to this season include the World of Outlaws on July 17, and the biggest event of the season, the WISSOTA 100, scheduled for Sept. 15-18.
