AZALEA PRINCE AND PRINCESS PAGEANT WINNERS The 2019 GFWC Friday Club Azalea Prince and Princess are Boston Willie McMinn and Emma Griffon. The second runners up (left) are Beck Rehkop and Keeley Mills. The first runners up (right) are Sylas Palmer and Emma Burns. Boston Willie is the son of Travis and Laci McMinn. Emma Griffon is the daughter of Tim and Brenda Griffon. Beck is the son of Tyler and Chelsea Rehkop and Kayla Hinkle. Keeley is the daughter of Jason and Jamie Mills. AZALEA FESTIVAL FLOAT CATEGORY WINNERS LEFT: Kountry Kidds took home first place in the commercial category. New Era Bank came in second and Cap America took third. BELOW LEFT: Fresh Anointing United Pentecostal Church of Fredericktown won first place in the civic/religious category for their 80s themed float featuring a jumbo boombox and singing puppets. The Glass Slipper came in second place and Madison County Service Coordination took third. 57th Annual Azalea Festival Car Show winners Despite a change of date and location the 57th Annual Azalea Festival Car Show enjoyed a beautiful day Sunday. Bristol Rehkop and her Craftman were the Queen’s Choice winner and the Kid’s Choice winner, Dan Combs and his Desoto were the Mayor’s Choice winner, Cherri Newbury and her 1967 Mustang were the People’s Choice winner, Pat Kurtz and his 2016 Mustang won Ladies’ Choice, Fred Dockins and his 1958 Cadillac won Azalea Board Choice and Shelby Harris and his 1937 Ford took home Best of Show. In the Original Cars category; 1900-1949 Debra McDowell took first place and Gary Ireland placed second, 1950-1959 Dan Combs took first place, Fred Dockins placed second and Larry Mizell won third, 19601969 Larry Lappe took first place, Joe Dennis placed second and Cherri Newbury won third, 1980-1989 Bill Veal took first place,1990-1999 Geo Spala won first place and Jacob Francis finished second, 2000-2019 Chris Henson took first place, Lanny Abney placed second and Austin Scott took home third. In the Muscle Cars category; 1964-1980 Cody Tripp won first place, Don Walker placed second and Scott and Rhonda Black took third, 2001-2019 Edward Brown won first place, Pat Kurtz took second and Jeremy Jones placed third. In the Street Rods category; 1933-1948 Tom and Sue Steiger won first place, Gracie Sikes placed second and Shelby Harris took third. In the Modified Trucks category; 1900-1949 Colleen Twomey won first place and Larry Runnels placed second, 1950-1979 Clyde Shafer won first place, Karl Francis placed second and Stephen Twomey took third, 1980-2019 Ray Hull won first place, Brad Dockins placed second and Brady Hurst took third. In the Special Interest category Eric Heider won first place, James Whaley placed second and Logan Mitchell took third.

Shelby Harris and his 1937 Ford took home the top prize at the Azalea Festival Car Show. Harris won Best of Show along with a 4-foot trophy and $250. He also took third in the Street Rods 1933-1948 category.
Dan Combs and his Desoto were Mayor Kelly Korokis’ pick for the Mayor’s Choice Award. Combs also won first place in the Original Cars 1950-1959 category.
