COMPLETE DISASTER RECOVERY in Bonne Terre, MO

Bryant Restoration was named after Reggie AuBuchon’s grandfather, Bryant Joseph AuBuchon. A WWII Navy veteran, Bryant was a Bonne Terre native, and he served Saint Francois County as judge and worked for the assessor’s office. Bryant also served as councilman and Mayor of Bonne Terre.

But that’s not all... Bryant AuBuchon worked at Dolomite for two decades, owned and operated multiple service stations, a wrecker service, and a taxi service. Bryant ended his work career by running the local landfill prior to retirement. Bryant AuBuchon was the patriarch of our family, and served his city, county, and country with pride.

Locally owned and operated, we understand the devastation associated with fire and water damage, and we’re IICRC certified to perform the necessary restoration work. With over 75 years of combined construction and restoration experience, we prioritize customer satisfaction and achieve it through exceptional and thorough fire and water damage cleanup services. As the go-to experts for water restoration, fire restoration, mold remediation, and carpet cleaning, our disaster damage specialists will restore your home and your peace of mind.

Reggie AuBuchon had a bad experience with a restoration company when there was a flood at his family’s home.

“I knew there was a need here in the Parkland for more restoration companies, so we started our own company with the idea of making it the best in the region,” he said.

Bryant Restoration was named after Reggie’s grandfather, Bryant AuBuchon, a lifelong Bonne Terre resident who served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He also served as councilman and mayor of Bonne Terre, worked in the county assessor’s office, and was a St. Francois County judge.

Bryant Restoration is a locally owned and operated business certified in everything they do, from water, fire and mold remediation; trauma scene clean-up; and upholstery and carpet cleaning.

“We understand the devastation associated with fire and water damage, and we’re IICRC-certified to perform the necessary restoration work,” said Reggie.

With more than 75 years of combined construction and restoration experience, the staff prioritizes customer satisfaction and achieves it through exceptional and

thorough fire and water damage cleanup service.

“As the go-to experts for water restoration, fire restoration, mold remediation and carpet cleaning,” said Reggie, “our disaster damage specialists restore your home and your peace of mind.”

Bryant Restoration’s goal is to get families back in their home as soon as possible to help them return to life as normal. They provide transparent and honest pricing to ensure customers receive the best value for their investment.

“We’re also available 24/7,” said Reggie. “That means we’re ready whenever you need our help.”

Bryant Restoration works closely with local insurance and property management companies, serving residential and commercial clients throughout Southeast Missouri.

The company also supports its community by regularly donating to several organizations throughout the Parkland.

First State Community Bank takes great pride in how its loan services have helped facilitate growth in the Parkland. Today, there are more than 50 FSCB locations throughout Missouri, and it all started with the downtown Farmington location in 1954.

The freedom to make decisions locally with the needs of the community in mind is why multiple generations continue to view them not simply as a bank but also as a trusted financial partner.

FSCB’s Loan Services Department offers a plethora of possibilities including fixed-rate mortgage loans with firsttime home buyer options, as well as various types of Home, Auto, Business, and Personal Loans.

There are a few tips to follow before seeking a loan. First, it’s important for potential loan customers to regularly monitor their credit scores. FSCB also offers products and services for customers to help build credit if needed.

When shopping for a home, it’s important for potential homeowners to have a pre-qualification letter to be able to make quick offers on the house. Once customers are pre-qualified for a home mortgage loan, they should remain with the same employer to avoid any potential

Taylor Miller has been a FSCB Mortgage Loan Officer for seven years. She said the bank’s staff truly cares about their community.

“It’s extremely rewarding to be part of an organization which stands true to its values and makes an effort to be so involved,” she said. “Whether it’s a little league sports team or the town’s most-attended event, we’re there to lend a helping hand.”

She added that FSCB is constantly growing and evolving the products and services they offer.

“You’ll always receive the ‘small-town’ service and satisfaction that you deserve,” said Miller.

Andrew Huhman, a Mortgage Loan Officer for six years, said FSCB is “Full of like-minded individuals who genuinely care about each other, their customers, and the community.”

Customers who plan to seek a loan should call 573-7564547, stop by the branch or apply online at FSCB.com.

Hearing Aids

Hope is what Dr. Karen Melton has been delivering to residents of the Parkland for nearly a decade. She and her colleagues at Hearing Care Partners specialize in hearing testing and treatment, including those with tinnitus who often don’t realize it’s a treatable condition.

The most common treatment for individuals suffering from hearing loss is the prescription of hearing devices.

Because of technological advancements, some digital hearing aids are now assisted by artificial intelligence, allow individual customization, environmental noise suppression, and Bluetooth connectivity for navigation, alerts, phone calls and more.

But hearing devices alone don’t make the difference in the lives of those with hearing loss – it’s the relationship with the hearing care providers that create long lasting impacts. The provider and patient care team at Hearing Care Partners consult with their patients to help with identifying hearing difficulties, prescribe a solution that may include hearing technology, assist with the programming and ongoing care of those devices, and support with repairs.

In addition to the diagnosing and treating hearing loss, Hearing Care Partners offers numerous additional services including; hearing protection; swimming molds; tinnitus treatment; ear wax removal; and more.

The team at Hearing Care Partners treat their patients like family. They take great pride in providing detailed, personalized service, including referrals for clients who need additional treatment. The staff also provide custom hearing protection for businesses and individuals who work in noisy environments.

Your hearing health is important. Whether you or a loved one has experienced hearing loss, it’s time to seek treatment from professionals who are guaranteed to make your treatment their priority.

Water Services

Crisp, clean water flowing from an artesian spring. This water is bottled by H2O Technologies, a locally and family-owned premium spring water bottling company and the exclusive bottler of LaRue Artesian Spring Water.

The spring water is sourced from a single privately owned spring which has been in one of the co-founder’s family for generations. The spring has been inspected and approved for use by the State of Missouri, and H2O Technologies bottling facility is registered and inspected by the FDA and state.

The bottled spring water is available in various sizes. H2O Technologies’ customer base is growing and now includes big-box stores, grocery stores, convenience stores, schools, businesses and individuals.

Chris McCaul and Amy Eisenbeis co-founded and own the business together.

Eisenbeis said they strive to provide premium water in a bottle that meets their customers’ needs and goals without charging them a premium price.

“Our purpose and our team set us apart,” said Eisenbeis. “We say that H2O Technologies is a people-first company that sells spring water. The goals of H2O surround helping people and meeting their needs, whether we do this through employment, disaster relief, donation or even recycling.”

She said the company is committed to putting people first, and that starts with the amazing staff who are employed at H2O.

“H2O could not exist nor do what we do without each person who makes up our team,” she said. “While we each have responsibilities and tasks, it’s a group effort to provide the best product for our customers’ specific needs.”

Eisenbeis said H2O technologies grew out of the genuine desire to help people.

“This desire is deeply rooted in our faith and our belief that our greatest purpose is to care about people,” she said. “Selling water is the means by which we fuel this effort.” Factored in to each bottle of water produced is a “give back” portion.

“Giving back is literally built in and is always at the forefront of what drives us,” said Eisenbeis. “It’s a shared effort and achievement because our customers help us help others every single time they make a purchase. It’s people giving to people and is all wrapped up in our pursuit to live out our mission statement, ‘Water is life. Pursuing living water matters.’”

Real Estate

At Midwest Real Estate, there’s usually someone working seven days a week, often from sunrise to sunset – and sometimes after that.

Midwest Real Estate Broker/Owner Eric Kofron and his staff are hard-working, diligent and dedicated.

“Our team approach is unique and focuses on the needs and desires of each individual client, with a strong reputation and willingness to partner with financing and mortgage industries to help secure the best possible outcome in each real estate transaction,” said Eric.

The Midwest staff use their long-standing experience to understand individual requirements and guide their clients throughout the selling and buying process for residential homes and commercial real estate. They do this while providing exceptional customer service and professionalism.

Eric took over the business after his mother and founder of the business, Delena Kofron, passed away in July.

“My mother had major success in all her years in real estate,” said Eric, “but when opening her own brokerage, there was no one who was putting out her fire. She was an inspiration, a leader, and she was always a goal setter. Once she reached

her goal, she would set the next goal even higher.”

Delena built the family business, along with Eric, based on strong family values, passion and transparency.

The Midwest Real Estate staff continue to transfer their family values into everything they do, from the relationships the agents have with one another to the ones they have with their clients.

“When someone is ready for their next real estate transaction, we hope you will let our awesome team at Midwest Real Estate assist you in reaching your real estate goals,” he said. “Buying or selling a property is an important decision, and we make sure you get quality real estate services.”

Eric said, “And as for me, I will continue on with my mother’s legacy and hope I am as successful as she was. I will make her proud!”

Memorials and Monuments

Parkland Monument Co. has been family-owned and operated since 1927. Formerly known as Parkview Monument Works located on Weber Road in Farmington, Jeff Owens and his family purchased that business in 1997. In 2003, the family purchased the second – and current – location where they eventually moved all production.

The company completes engraving and etching and produces their own monuments in-house. From working with the customer to design the monument to installing the completed stone, the overall process is personalized and completed by Parkland Monument Co. staff.

“The fact that we have the ability to do everything ourselves provides the customer with complete flexibility of how we can design and produce their memorial,” said Jeff. He said any salesperson can sell a monument out of a catalog, but he can fully design and customize a monument stone.

“Part of my job is to suggest ideas and inform our customers

of what their options are,” he said. “I present the information so customers can make decisions, factor in their budget, etc.” Memorialization is Parkland Monument Co.’s primary business, which includes a variety of products such as monuments, memorial pavers, granite benches, yard stones and more.

Parkland Monument Co. is committed to providing its customers with the best possible products, variety of selection and outstanding service.

“Our attention to detail, knowledge and experience we provide our customers is superb,” said Jeff. “The fact that we can control every aspect of the services we provide is an advantage for our customers that no one else in the area can replicate.”

Alternatives to Tobacco THE FACE OF

Nearly a decade ago on Thanksgiving Day, Stan Janis quit smoking after he and a few family members tried vaping. That’s when Stan decided he would never smoke another cigarette.

Vaping is a nicotine-delivery system. Those who do not already use tobacco products should not begin vaping. Although this is not a guaranteed solution for those who are trying to quit smoking, this method worked for Stan. Since then, he’s made it his mission to help those who are trying to reduce or eliminate their nicotine consumption.

Stan and Jordan Wood co-own The Shed Vapes, a local business open 365 days a year.

“We purposefully maintain hours friendly to a variety of work schedules,” said Stan.

The pair also provide training and product advice for anyone new to vaping.

The main reason The Shed Vapes is so successful is because of the business’s massive selection of incredibly low-priced products. They sell wholesale vaping equipment and flavors of juice to the public.

At the end of every month, 100% of The Shed Vapes’ profit is donated to various charities and community organizations.

“We’re not in the business to make money,” said Stan. “All we’re doing is trying to sell items at a reasonable cost to save people money and help them to quit smoking or chewing, and we don’t sell customers something they don’t need.”

Stan and Jordan are currently in the process of expanding their business to a larger building with parking for 50plus vehicles. They plan to move their business to the new building, located at the corner of Highway O and Hillsboro Road just three miles from the current location, at the end of October. They will add a lounge shed and sand volleyball, cornhole and other games in the spring.

Rural Healthcare THE FACE OF

Washington County Memorial Hospital opened its doors nearly 60 years ago in Potosi. The hospital has experienced many changes since 1963. The hospital’s founding fathers – Dr. Edward Lake, Dr. George Cresswell and Dr. Joseph Thurman – had a vision to provide much-needed care to the growing community. A little-known fact is that the first administrator hired also served as the lab and radiology supervisor.

Although today’s WCMH is vastly different in structure from the original hospital, the same vision and motivation still drive the hospital: to provide quality care to its surrounding communities.

WCMH transitioned to a Critical Access Hospital (CAH), which is a Medicare reimbursement model for safety net hospitals, in June 2001. The hospital is currently licensed for 25 beds which includes any variation of acute care, swing beds and observation.

As a CAH, WCMH serves a rural area for anything from lifethreatening injuries to heart attacks or sinus infections.

“Providing everything a rural community needs to be healthy is a tall order, but it is a role that WCMH gladly fills day after day,” said Kelly Brueggen. She is WCMH’s director of grants and marketing and community champion for the Delta Regional Community Health System Development Grant.

WCMH qualified as a CAH for several reasons. It’s the only

facility which offers an emergency room or hospital services in any direction for at least 35 miles. The availability of CAHs for millions of rural Americans can be the difference between life and death for those experiencing trauma, respiratory or cardiac failure.

CAHs are often overlooked or viewed as inadequate when compared to large facilities in major U.S. cities.

“But we are a vital team player in America’s healthcare landscape,” said Brueggen. “Without thriving CAH’s, higher acuity hospitals would not be able to manage patient load, and valuable life-saving minutes will be lost when every second counts.”

Nearly 300 staff members are employed at WCMH. Numerous services, five rural health clinics, inpatient unit, 24-hour emergency department, and specialty clinics have been added to WCMH to meet the demands of patients.

“We offer exceptional care no matter the time of day to whomever is in need,” said Brueggen, “and we believe residents of the Parkland shouldn’t have to travel more than an hour for excellent patient care.”

Audiology

Hearing devices can bring the joy of natural hearing back to everyday life. They can make sounds louder. They can help aid in comprehension of what is being said in a face-to-face conversation.

Hearing loss is a common problem, whether it’s due to prolonged exposure to loud noise or the natural loss as the result of the aging process. It can disrupt how people interact and connect with others.

No two people are alike with hearing loss. That’s why individualized treatment from audiologists and hearing instrument specialists is imperative in order to improve the quality of day-to-day life.

Hearing aids provide numerous benefits to individuals who suffer from hearing loss of varying degrees.

Technological advancements have made hearing aids smarter, more attractive, and more customized to an individual’s personal lifestyle. From invisible to behind-theear choices, there is a wide range of hearing aids in many shapes, sizes and brands.

When individuals seek treatment for their hearing loss, audiologists and hearing instrument specialists, like

those at Hearing Care Partners, are able to determine the best options for them. In the hands of a professional, this technology can be customized and tailored over time to meet the unique needs of every patient.

“We bring back the sounds of life you love with a customized treatment plan tailored to your unique life,” said Dr. Karen Melton, AuD and co-owner of Hearing Care Partners.

For two decades, Dr. Melton and the Hearing Care Partners’ team has focused on medically treating their patients’ hearing loss by offering numerous options of hearing aids and treatments.

Hearing loss can be devastating, but there is hope with a customized hearing treatment plan. The Hearing Care Partners staff is committed to improving their patients’ lives through genuine, compassionate and personalized care.

From the time she was eight, Debra Hendron began learning the art of soap making from her grandmother; in fact, soaps crafted from the same traditional recipes are still one of the most popular items at the Arcadia Valley Soap Company. Area visitors are particularly drawn to the Destination Soaps, which represent local attractions such as Elephant Rocks and Old Plank Road. No doubt the custom, hand-stamped bags accompanying this collection help make them irresistible souvenirs. For the adventurous, keep an eye out for their confetti soaps, which are unique concoctions made from the slivers and shavings of their hand-beveled bars. Debra has been handcrafting artisan soap in Missouri for

20 years, and in Arcadia Valley specifically since 2012. And while online sales remain popular, those fortunate enough to visit their Ironton location can see the care taken to produce the handmade soaps, lotions, balms, and fizzies displayed invitingly around the store. And with their seasonal items now available, it’s the perfect time to visit for Christmas lovers or those looking for the perfect holiday gift.
