Pamodzi, Southern Sun hotels closed?

By GRACE CHAILE LESOETSA

TAJ Pamodzi and Southern Sun hotels in Lusaka have temporarily closed due to unknown reasons.

The two major hotels have become a deserted view with only security guards at the entrance turning away prospective clients.

A check found a notice stuck on the Southern Sun Hotel main entrance reading, “We are temporarily closed.”

The temporary closures has come at a time when the hospitality industry is facing challenges in operations due to the coronavirus leading to over 90 percent reduction in clientele.

Efforts to get a comment from the Tourism Council of Zambia chairperson Vincent Mupwaya was unsuccessful as his phone went unanswered.
