HOROSCOPES ARIES – Mar 21/Apr 20 A strong urge to be alone arises this week, Aries. If this happens, turn off your phone and put a message that you’re not to be disturbed until you’re ready for some company. TAURUS – Apr 21/May 21 Yours may turn into the party house this week when a lot of uninvited visitors show up and expect to socialize. It’s a good thing you have energy to spare right now, Taurus. GEMINI – May 22/Jun 21 Errands are not going to complete themselves, Gemini. Schedule time this week to get all of your ducks in a row. You have obligations to your family and friends. CANCER – Jun 22/Jul 22 You intend to use the extra energy that seems to have been building in you for some time, Cancer. An impromptu sports match or a trip to the gym can burn off energy. LIBRA – Sept 23/Oct 2 Spring cleaning is in the air, and this week you are ready to tackle your home top to bottom. Why not ask for some help from the kids or your spouse to work more quickly? SCORPIO – Oct 24/Nov 22 Frustrations may be high this week. Scorpio. Despite your desire to socialize, you can’t seem to get out of the house. Responsibilities at home won’t change for some time. SAGITTARIUS – Nov 23/Dec 21 Keep in mind it can take a few days for you to recover from a night of revelry, Sagittarius. Avoid overdoing it on weeknights or you may pay the price at work in the morning. CAPRICORN – Dec 22/Jan 20 There is a lot of work to get done around the house, Capricorn. A lack of funding has you in a holding pattern. Examine your budget to see if there’s wiggle room.
AQUARIUS – Jan 21/Feb 18 Aquarius, if you find yourself in a poor mood this week, try not to take it out on others. Simply ask for some alone time until you can work out your feelings for the better. PISCES – Feb 19/Mar 20 Exercise tact and diplomacy when someone asks for your honest opinion about their performance at work, Pisces. You’ll get your point across.

Did you know? It’s no secret that a good-looking lawn can entice buyers when selling a home, but homeowners may not realize just how much they can benefit from even the smallest investments of time and money in their home exteriors. According to the Top Agent Insights Q2 2019 Report from HomeLight, low-cost outdoor home improvements to a landscape provide sizable returns on investment. For example, the report found that a $268 investment in a lawn care service can lead to a $1,211 increase in home value at resale. Similarly, $340 worth of fresh mulch can increase home value at resale by $769. More than 85 percent of real estate professionals who participated in the HomeLight survey recommended other small and simple projects, including removing dirt, grime and cobwebs from a home entrance and trimming trees and shrubs prior to putting a home on the market.

How to protect your home when youʼre away and Statistics Canada estimate that more than two million burglaries occur in the United States and Canada every year. That underscores the importance of protecting your home at all times, including when you’re not there. • Create the impression that someone is home. Just because you’re heading off for parts unknown doesn’t mean you can’t create the impression that life is carrying on as usual within the walls of your home. Smart home technology now enables homeowners to set timers on lights and even home electronics like televisions and radios. Homeowners also can ask neighbors to pick up their mail or halt delivery until they return from their trips. Nothing says “no one’s home” as definitively as an overflowing mailbox.
Vacation often serves as a well-deserved break from the hustle and bustle of daily life. When relaxing and recharging away from home, the last thing
vacationers want to think about is the safety of their homes and everything inside them. However, the National Council for Home Safety and Security
• Keep quiet on social media. A Credit Sesame survey of former burglars in the United Kingdom found that 78 percent acknowledged monitoring social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter as they try to find homes to burglarize. Individuals about to go on vacation should avoid sharing that on social media.

• Stay silent while you’re away as well. Social media silence should be continued while you’re on vacation as well. No matter how tempting it may be to share photos from an exotic location, such posts could catch the attention of all the wrong people. A recent report from MetLife indicated that 35 percent of Americans between the ages of 18 and 34 check in from their locations via social media. That can alert criminals that no one is manning the fort back home. • Switch from a traditional lock and key to a lockbox. Individuals who travel frequently can take a page from the realtor notebook and switch from a traditional lock and key lock system to a lockbox. Lockboxes require that a code is entered before a box containing a key can be unlocked. Homeowners who want this added measure of protection don’t even need to put a key inside the lockbox, which typically covers a lock, making it extremely difficult for potential thieves to pick the lock. Before leaving for vacation, individuals can implement various strategies and safety measures to protect their homes and their belongings while they’re away.
