The works on the 15th Hole are well and truly underway with what will be a most exciting addition to the golf course. We are still on track for a May 2019 opening of the hole. Officially as of January this year, Club Catalina partnered with the Batemans Bay Rugby Union Club who will use the Club premises as their new home, joining our Batemans Bay Cricket Club, whom we also sponsor. We welcome them to our Club and hope that it will be a long and rewarding partnership. With the installation of our 99.72kW solar panel system in
mid-2018, we have seen significant savings in excess of 13%, in both cost and consumption. A great initiative that is really making some significant savings. In addition to this, with the implementation of the Return and Earn Reverse Vending machine, over 2.4 million containers have now been deposited since inception. Well done Batemans Bay. Our NEW Members Badge Draw where up to $20,000 can now be WON, is in full swing. Three (3) draws are conducted each Wednesday and Thursday night at 6pm, 7pm and 8pm. Members must be present to win. This will jackpot by $1,000 each week if not won. Make it a night out, you never know, you could walk away with thousands of dollars. Young Percy’s Café pays tribute to the late Wilfred Percival (Percy) Bill (1879-1966) more
commonly known as “Young Percy”. Back in 1936, Percy Bill owned the golf course area. It was a racecourse and golf course and he also ran a number of cows in the centre of the race track up to 1945. The area was known as “Bill’s Paddock” and the adjacent streets to the race course, Bavarde Avenue, Heradale Parade and Herarde Street, were named after his prized race horses.
who have defended and fought for this country and given us the way of life that we now experience today. Lest we forget. Late last year Club Catalina was recognised in the NSW Tourism Awards as a Finalist in the Tourism Attractions category and then in the Inaugural Golf Industry Awards, a finalist in three categories, Junior Club of the Year, PGA Legends Pro-Am of the Year and PGA Professional of the Year. Tremendous to see the hard work and efforts of the Club being recognised throughout the industry.
Young Percy also owned the Bayview Hotel from 1913 until passing it on to his daughters and son-on-law decades later and owned a butcher shop in the area. In Sydney, he was the deputy mayor of Liverpool. Next time you have a coffee, spare a thought for Young Percy.
We thank you for your patronage and support and look forward to seeing you in the Club. We are sure that this new publication will be well received and be a great source of information on your Club.
Thursday 25 April will see the re-introduction of Two Up at Club Catalina. This will be a great day where we continue to uphold the many traditions of our many men and women

Catalina Country Club Golf In and amongst course redesign and course work, players have hit the green hard, eager to have a phenomenal year of golf. One of them has done just that, Cliff Williams having beaten his age not once, not twice, not three times …but FOUR times in the month of January!!! Then we’ve had Frank Del Santo who got a hole in one in February on the 7th hole. What a great achievement.
