Catalina Golf It has been a busy Winter of Golf at Club Catalina with two big tournaments happening: Seniors Open on the June long weekend and the 2019 Clyde Auto Juniors Open & U/24s Classic. In addition the new 15th hole was in play. We had two Holes-In-One during the period, in the course was reviewed by Inside Golf and Golf Australia. We also had our very own Jarrod Cottington, grounds apprentice, become a finalist in the Eurobodalla Awards for Outstanding Employee of the Year. A great achievement.

Batemans Bay Cricket Club Prepares For Summer Training is well under way for the Batemans Bay senior and junior sides in preparation for the start of the new cricket season in early October. Last season finished well for the cricket club and it hopes to build on those results next season. A successful presentation night was held in the Catalina Club Chardonnay Room in April , with
successful teams and players duly recognised. One of the more prestigious and coveted Shoalhaven District Cricket Association awards is Turf Wicket Curator of the Year, which was won by Batemans Bay. This success was due in no small part to the invaluable advice and assistance provided by Catalina’s course superintendent Dennis Grounds and his staff.
The turf wicket will be ready for action by mid-September when the Bay host ACT Western Districts/Uni of Canberra grade sides in trial matches, with an informal after-match function to follow at the Club Catalina. Friday afternoon social women’s cricket will be on again this year, planned to be starting after Christmas – stay tuned.
From October 6
