TAMOU: MY BEST IS YET TO COME James Tamou is ready to take his game to the next level as he prepares to put on the Penrith Panthers jersey for the first time this season.
The big-name-signing believes finding his new home at the foot of the mountains will reignite his career after hitting the ground running in pre-season training. Now he is aiming to transfer his pre-season energy into the rest of Penrith’s formidable forward pack as the club sets its sights on the NRL Premiership. “Every morning I am excited to come to training and that’s how it should be,” Tamou said. “It’s one of those things, a fire has been ignited inside of me to go to that next level of football and it is a pleasure to do it at Penrith. “Footy wise to come into a new team, wanting to make good first impressions and set goals, I think some of the goals have already been set about this team and what it can do in the future.

“The way the group play on the field really impresses me. They play an exciting brand of football, totally different to what I’m used to.”
The Panthers tore their way through the back end of the 2016 season before succumbing to the Canberra Raiders in the NRL finals. Being bundled out of the 2016 finals could be a blessing in disguise, according to Tamou. The hard-running forward says experiencing a finals loss as well as the perfect blend of youthful and seasoned campaigners has the Panthers in the perfect position for 2017. “Some of these young boys, I am just impressed by what I see,” he said.
“Them being so young they still have got a lot to learn but I wish when I was there age I knew what they know. I think where they are now, they are ahead of me training wise, footy wise at that age. It’s just good to see that the club’s future will be good. “Last year (at the Cowboys) I think we had good depth and when the rep players went away some of our younger players came up and did the job. I see that a lot here.” Despite being only 27-years-old, Tamou quickly becomes one of the older players in the youthful Panthers squad.
The front rower says he finds it funny that he now considered an elder statesman, but has welcomed it with open arms and cannot wait for the season ahead. “It is funny looking at it, that’s how young the playing group here is,” he said. “I think Peter Wallace is the oldest and I think it goes me next. It’s weird having it that way coming from North Queensland where we had a few older players and I took a back seat."

INDULGE IN PREMIUM CHOCOLATE
Spoil your loved one this Valentines Day with a special visit to Oliver Brown Belgian Chocolate Café.
“That is what we are obsessed about and what people keep coming back for.
“We have a nice quiet atmosphere in the hub and I see it as a hidden gem,” Mr Lim said.
Priding itself as the ultimate dessert destination, Oliver Brown has something for everyone from chocolate to churros and waffles and is located in Panthers Penrith.
“I would definitely say that our best sellers are the waffles, churros and anything on our indulgence menu. “For anyone having a meal at the club, all I would say is leave some room for dessert because it is worth it.”
“It is an undisturbed environment where you can come here with your work and have a coffee and relax.”
Owner Thai Lim says the café secret was their quality chocolate. “Our chocolate is of the highest quality and once you taste it you will realise that it is premium,” Mr Lim said.
Opening Hours Monday – Sunday: 9am until late
Several members and visitors also enjoy a coffee and break at Oliver Brown Belgian Chocolate Café due to its atmosphere.
