Brittain Wynyard & Co Ltd. Brittain Wynyard & Co Ltd was founded in 1923 by Colonel W.B.Brittain, when he moved to New Zealand as Far Eastern Director of a Sheffield steel works. The partnership with G.L.Wynyard formed in 1930. Over the next three quarters of a century, Brittain Wynyard developed businesses in hardware, sporting goods, commercial property and agriculture. Today our company holds a complete focus on the sports and leisure industry and is now the largest multi-brand sports company in New Zealand. The purchase of Thompson Walker’s fishing and camping business late 2014, was supplementary to an already impressive brand portfolio. This allowed greater depth and flexibility in offering an extensive product range to suit all Kiwi anglers offering best value in entry-level products to the more extensive high quality ranges.
