Nominations are being accepted for the 2013 Exceptional Businesswomen Award, which has been given by the Dakota County Tribune and Sun Thisweek since 2010. To nominate a woman who has distinguished herself in her business and community efforts and who works in Dakota County, go online at www.SunThisweek.com and look for the Exceptional Businesswomen Award link. The nomination will include your name, contact information, the name of the woman being nominated, reasons why she should receive the award and her past accomplishments. Nominations also can be emailed to tad.johnson@ecm-inc. com or mailed to 15322 Galaxie Avenue, Suite 219, Apple Valley, MN 55124. The deadline for submitting nomination is Jan. 11. Nominations will be reviewed by a panel of judges from the Dakota County Tribune, Sun Thisweek and the Dakota County Technical College Foundation. The newspaper and the foundation are organizing the recognition program, which will include a special print edition of the Tribune profiling the winners and an awards breakfast Tuesday, March 5, at Lost Spur Event Center and Golf Course in Eagan. The event, which has previously been held in Lakeville, Apple Valley and Burnsville, will include a guest speaker and a chance to meet past and present Exceptional Businesswomen. Information about event registration will be in a future story along with the announcement of this year’s featured speaker.
