Dynamic Displays

These eye-catching visuals from Macey’s and Bloomingdales are what differentiates an inspiring style of visual merchandising from an unoriginal one. The collection of strung trainers and shoes collates a great visual for customers to appreciate the dimension of choice and colour available in store. The lettering created through dropped crystals can also be appreciated from its delicate and understated image, yet creates a big impact. Page 3

The Brooklyn Art Museum brought an exhibition from the amazing contemporary designer Jean Paul Gaultier. Motioned human like faces projected onto still mannequins is surely a new level of genius. The unusual descriptive technology was used in such a way to create depth and knowledge of his work.

Intriguing

Interiors Because Brooklyn is influenced upon art and differentiation, the pressure to make dynamic displays, and innovative interiors is something that can be quite difficult to master. To the right features jumble sale interiors that sold quirky vintage items. The idea is that the items speak for themselves the creativity of the interiors is created through the use of the products. There is very little layout throughout the stores which gives a real American garage sale experience. To the left features unusual contemporary artistic ideas, such as a bear head on a mannequin, and a common occurrence of hanging objects from the ceiling. Bubbles, twisted cotton, and reflective silver discs are all simplistic, imaginative ideas that have a great effect for visual merchandising. Page 6

Brooklyn is the home of innovative street art which has had such a huge influence on fashion since the urban street and hip-hop movement of the 1980’s. Below American illustrator Emanuel Schongut designed the exterior for the American Apparel store making a bold and decorative invitation for its customers. To the left a cafe bar with what looks like a wall of bricks have been destroyed featuring a visually stimulating exterior giving us an idea of what to expect inside.
