Current Scams

Scams are a really easy way for rogues to try and get your money and here are a few recent ones that are circulating. An automated phone call from Amazon asks you to confirm you’ve just ordered a £1200 iPhone. An email says you’ve got a delivery but there’s a fee to be paid. Some company says you’ve been overcharged and are due a refund. So what are they after? Variously, for you to click an email link, press a phone button and connect to a premium rate service or give them your bank or card details. Usually you won’t be fooled but occasionally it coincides with what you might be expecting and sounds very credible so beware! These are not the ways that authentic organisations work.
