TRANSPORT METRO To get from the airport to the city you can either take a metro or taxi. If you have shitty heavy luggage, take a taxi! Taxi should cost no more that € 12, if they try to charge you extra, ask for a receipt. One metro journey costs € 1.40 and it takes around 45 minutes. You should take red line to Alameda and change for the green line to Martim Moniz. When you get off there it’s a 10 min. walk to the apartment (uphill!). Or you can also go to Santa Apolonia station and walk from there (also uphill!) If you get a daily transport card, it is around € 6 and you can use metro, bus and old tram cheaper – which just stops in front of the house.

FEW HOUSE RULES KEYS and main door entrance On your arrival you would have already picked up the happy keys in the lovely ice cream shop just next door to our apartment. The main building door has a lock with an attitude. You have to put the key in and take it out just slightly to be able to turn it clockwise and unlock. Be gentle. If you have any troubles, ask in the cafe next door, Isabela or her daughter can help you. Also the door is quite heavy so it’s a little work out. On your departure, please leave the keys on the table inside the flat and close the door. PLANTs We would be so grateful if you could water two of our plants in the living room when you are visiting so they keep blooming for you :) balcony lights There are some lights on the balcony wire for you to enjoy which are sollar charged. You will find a little black boxed attached on the left side if the balcony. There is a tiny white switch at the back to turn them off and on. Enjoy ! SHOWER / HOT WATER There is a boiler in the kitchen, in a cupboard next to the sink. When you need hot water, you need to slide the handle to the middle and press it for about 7 seconds while pressing the button at the bottom right, underneath for a spark and to switch it on. If you are not using it, to turn it off, just slide the handle back to the left. Thanks for helping us save the energy! KITCHEN We don’t recommend to leave any food in the kitchen as a few ants like to come out from time to time. Best to keep it in cupboard or the fridge. WASHING Unfortunately our washing machine is old and broken so we ask you not to use it. However, there is a lovely laundrette near by, only 5min. walk: Wash Station Alfama, Rua dos Remédios 115 (see map) WIFI The name of the wifi is: Wifi-Wonkas-Chocolate-Factory Password: GOLD#N-t1ck3t have fun !
