DALLAS PRINT SOCIETY The D allas Print Society enters 1941 wit h a program of increasingly valuable projects in view, in addition to it s scheduled membership m eetings. In cooperation with the British War Reli ef Society, the Print Society is offering for sale twenty-five lithographs by the DaIlas artist, Merritt Mauzey. Copies of the print, tided " My Brother's Keeper, " are placed for sale at various strategic points including the Dallas Little Theatre, the workroom of the British War Relief Society, and the Museum, where an impression is on exhibit in the Society's print niche. At the request of the DaIlas Art A ssociation, the Print Societ y has agreed to sFonsor a Texas Print Annual, to be open to all Te xas printmakers and to be held at the Museum in the faIl of every year . There will be a jury of acceptance and award and various prizes, all to be announced later. The Print Society plans to present in the spring of this year an exhibition of prints by contemporary Mexican printmakers, including some of the younger and lesser kn own artists. This exhibit will be assemb led in Mexico. Mrs . 1. B. Denning, Jr. is chairman of the com mittee making ar rangements for the Mexican print exhibit. Calvin Holmes, the D allas artis t, has been appointed by Mrs . John P. Morgan, president of the Prin t Society, to investiga te the possibility of ins talling a nu mb er of exhibit cases in the Mu seum fo r th e pur pose of show ing t he too ls and pro cesses of the various print methods. This is an educa tiona l project annou nced by the Print Society at the beginnin g of th e curren t season. The next meeting of the DaIla s Prin t Societ y will be at 8: 15 P.M., Februa ry 3, at the Mu seum , w hen Euge ne Kin gman, D irector of the Philbrook Museu m in T ulsa, O kl ahom a, will speak on t he Seventh Int ern at ional Exh ibit ion of Woodc uts and Lit hogr aph y. The exhi bit upon which thi s t alk is based will come to t he DaIlas Museum f rom the Chicago Art I nst itu t e. DALLAS ART MU SE U M LEAGUE The DaIlas Art Museum League is arranging two special exhibits to be held at the Muse um in the near future . The T hird A nnual Ph otography Show , this year with Mrs . Andrew SmaIl and Mrs . T hom as Bacon as co-chairmen, will be exhi bited at the Museum Mar ch 23 through April 5. There will be a jury of acceptance and award , an d all en tries m ust be at the Museum by March 3. The Second A nn ual Hobby Show will be presented this year in May with Mrs. Richard Foster as chairman. The Hobby Show, sponsored last year by the Museum League, was such a success that the Art Associat ion requested t he Museum League to make this an annual event.
There have been two cha nges in time in the radio programs sponsored by t he League. The Sinfonietta broadcasts having been discont inued, t here is now a ta lk by t he Museum Director over station KG KO every Saturday at 7 :0 0 P.M. T he "Time for Art" broadcast is now heard every other Monday at 2:00 P.M. over station KRLD . Mrs. Wortham Collins and her broadcasting committee in their " Mr. and Mrs. Dallas" series alternate on these programs with Mr. Howard. The next "Time for Art" broadcast will be February 3. The Sinfonietta programs in the sculpture court under the direct ion of Achilles Taliaferro continue to draw good attendances every Sunday afternoon at f our. A group of prints by English printrnakers lent by Mrs. A. E. Zonne from her extensive print collection was exhibited at the Dallas Little Theatre during its production of "Night Must Fall." These prints were chosen by Mrs. Lester Lang, who is in charge of the Museum League's project of assembling an exhibit for the lobby of the Little Theatre complementing each of its productions. Mrs. John Rosenfield, Jr., presid ent of the Museum League, has announced that it is one of the many civic groups cooperating with the British War Relief Society and that the next membership meeting will be at the Mus eum on March 11.
