At Hybridfilter, we develop and deliver biological filters for neutralizing hydrogen sulphide We have lots of experience from the waste water industry and started delivering to the biogas industry in 2016. Solutions are typically used for filtering expulsion gas from gas tanks, slurry tanks and filling stations. This is either as passive or active with a fan for suction and creating a vacuum. Recently, we started delivering solutions for filtration of H2S in upgrading plants as a last chance filter before exhaust of CO2 stream to the environment.

THE TECHNOLOGY BEHIND Hydrogen sulfide is not just an unpleasant smell. If the concentration is high enough, it can be a health risk. It is not only dangerous for people, but also to materials such as concrete, electronics and metal. Thanks to the double filter function, hybridactive biofilters allow only harmless and insignificant compounds to pass through. The hybridfilter-system combines physical and biological processes. This is a combination that gives the outstanding performance of Hybridfilter. Biological: Specific microorganisms are applied to a loosely textured polyurethane material. While the exhaust gas passes through, the microorganisms are supplied with nutrients, and the bio culture is activated and multiplies. As a result, the hydrogen sulphide is broken down efficiently and the performance of the filter is significantly improved, compared to an active charcoal filter. Physical: The surface has a catalytic function and specific chemical compounds have a protective or absorbing effect. Lifetime: Depending on the concentration of hydrogen sulphide, the air flow and the size of the filter, the lifetime will vary from 1 to several years. Therefore, according to BiostoffV, the products contain no pathogens. To exclude a potential hygienic or medical risk, every batch of product is tested for the absence of pathogens. If the product is used, as it should, it carries no risk of injury or infection to the operator.
HF-FLEXFILTER - BIOMAX AND BIOMINI SERIES As emission filter in relation to exhaust gas to the surrounding environment. Eg. After upgrading plant After scrubber (eg. Biogasclean) for removal of the trace hydrogen sulphide (< 50 ppm down to < 3 ppm) Exchaust air from gas tanks (double membrane) Slurry tanks, passive or active ventilation with fan. Hybridfiltermats for biological cleaning of the gas consists of charcoal, providing a surface for the biomass, which neutralizes the hydrogen sulphide. The biomass is active down to 5 degrees centigrade, after which the active carbon takes ove. The hybrid filtermats provide close to no counterpressure, since it does not accumulate mass. The average life time of the filter mats is improved significantly through metabolism of the smelling components. Depending on the stress and volumetric flow, the life time varies from one to several years.
