2013-2014 SCHOOL YEAR CALENDAR
Dear Educator:
inspiring field trips
Welcome back to school! All of us here at the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago hope to support you and your students in achieving a successful year of learning. We want to help you be the teacher that students remember as the one who inspired them to pursue their chosen career.
No. 1 field trip
As a way to thank you for your efforts, we’re pleased to share this calendar featuring MSI’s exhibits, programs and resources all designed to help you bring science to life for your students. This year’s calendar reflects what teachers love most at MSI. We asked you in a survey last spring to tell us your favorite exhibits and experiences, and to share a teaching tip related to the Museum. Your responses were enthusiastic and highlighted our most-loved exhibits, old and new, that are featured in the calendar (along with some new exhibits we’re sure you’ll love). And don’t miss the tips from fellow teachers we’ve featured in this calendar. They share helpful resources, ways to engage parents and fun things to do during a field trip. We hope their ideas provide inspiration for your next visit. See you at the Museum!

Teacher Tip I love to bring parents to chaperone a small group; it’s like bringing your family on a learning spree. I hope to inspire the adults to show the continued love of learning during life’s journey. It also allows students to view adults who are curious about new ideas and who engage students with their science connections.
