WHAT’S ON HELLO
Welcome to DanceXchange’s September to December programme in The Patrick Centre, Birmingham Hippodrome. This season focuses on the meeting of dance with science.
Explore the universe with dx regular Alexander Whitley who returns with 8 Minutes a visually stunning show about our nearest star, the Sun. Immerse yourself in Humanhood’s visually and sonically mesmerising performance Zero, created in collaboration with, among others, astrophysicists at Birmingham University. Even little ones can experience space, with the world premiere of What The Moon Saw, a magical interactive journey by 2Faced Dance Company. Adding to the rich flavour of our season are two exciting performances by Lucy Suggate and Michel Rizzo exploring club culture, presented as part of the Fierce Festival, plus a clever and witty confessional piece by Uchenna Dance. Speaking of festivals - we are full swing into preparation for International Dance Festival Birmingham (IDFB), taking place on 1 – 24 June 2018. As a taster don’t miss Birmingham Weekender on 22-24 Sept 2017, where dx and IDFB present free performances of Orbis, Moon and Modern Warrior in the streets of the city centre. See you there. Lucie Mirkova Artistic Director We are so excited that Mark Bruce Company returns with their new production MacBeth to DanceXchange in Feb 2018, after their hugely successful tour of Dracula.
