Showing too much gray sky in photos will make pictures appear muted. If you still want to take pictures of an overcast sky, try a black and white feature. However, if there’s a beautiful blue sky, use it as often as you want to; however, you should still be aware of the light. When choosing which of your photos to show others, choose the ones of which you are the most proud. Avoid showing too many photos, numerous photos containing the same subject. Always make sure you have a fully charged battery before any special event or when you are planning on using the Camera. Digital cameras consume a lot of battery life, particularly when you use the LCD screen; therefore, be sure that your batteries are charged fully before you need to use your camera. To be extra sure you don’t miss a critical shot, take a spare set of batteries with you and change over when needed. In a landscape shot, the foreground is just as important as the Background. Create a nice foreground in your shot to make your picture look more deep and to frame in more intimately. Take the time to appreciate the little things when photographing on vacation. The images may seem unimportant when you take the photographs, but the images will serve as a memory of your trip in the future. Taking photos of things such as street signs, storefronts and other interesting objects will help trigger memories you would have forgotten otherwise. Take this tip into consideration! Learn the uses of the different Shutter speeds. M, S, A, and P settings all exist on your camera. Program mode is indicated by the “P”. This mode will completely automate the shutter and Aperture selection process. If you have no idea what settings you want, “P” is a safe choice! One of the best ways to capture perfect shots is to take many photographs of your subjects. Keep this in mind when purchasing a memory card, so you can be sure to get one with a large storage capacity. If you have a memory card with a large storage space, your card can hold a lot of photos. Yet another advantage to lots of memory is that it allows you to shoot in a format called RAW, giving you greater flexibility when you edit it later. Experiment with your camera’s various features, along with angles and colors. The subject of your photos can be very ordinary, yet will create an interesting picture. A good photographer is able to take a dull object and turn it into something interesting to look at, due to the skills and talent that the photographer possesses. Experiment with your photos until you discover your personal style. Strive to ensure your models, especially any you don’t already know, feel relaxed in your presence. Some people may feel threatened by the person taking their photograph, making them uneasy. Be polite, talk to them for a bit, then ask to take their photo. Let them understand that photography is not a way of invading their privacy, but it is rather an art. Pack your equipment for a trip carefully. Bring as many Lenses you think you’ll need and never forget to have spare batteries and maintenance accessories. Never bring more equipment than you will need, and plan accordingly for convenience of transport. Learning about proper Composition is something you must do when you are starting out in photography. If you already have some experience under your belt, it is something that can help you take better photographs. Lackluster composition can ruin the potential of a shot, just as any

piece of art in any medium needs good composition. After you have done your research into composition, practice putting it to use and after some time you will see that your images have improved greatly. Whenever you are taking photographs of landscapes, your pictures should always have three key aspects. These three components should be a foreground, mid-ground, and background. These same principles apply to landscape painting. If you are the photographer for a couple, family or group give them some pointers on what they should wear that will look good in the pictures. While it is unnecessary for everyone to match, your photos will turn out nicer if everyone is wearing complementary colors. Recommend warm colors or neutral shades, as they go well with natural surroundings. When a group insists on using more colors, especially bright ones, try to encourage a mix of colors and black. This ensures that the photo is not one with clashing colors detracting from its quality. If you are the photographer for a couple, family or group give them some pointers on what they should wear that will look good in the pictures. Although matching outfits aren’t necessary, having your subjects clothed in complementary shades of color can enhance a photograph. It is a good idea to suggest either warm colors or neutral shades, because these look good on nearly everyone. If your subjects prefer bright colors, suggest that they also wear black to balance out your photo. When taking a photo, shoot quickly. Be prepared to snap that image before it disappears. Animals will run, people will blink and little kids might start making funny faces while you are trying to get the ultimate shot. Adjust your settings as quickly as possible, and do your best to snap your picture while the scene still looks natural. There is much thought and technique that goes into a photo. It is more than just focusing on a will-lit subject and snapping a picture. Following these guidelines will allow you to improve the impact and interest of your photographs. Don’t miss good photo opportunities by spending excessive time trying to figure out your settings. Do not pick a preset because you need to modify your settings. Experiment with your camera’s features to see how different settings affect your photos. My e-books are meant to be read on your Kindle reader.
