Computing Drawing This body of work explores computer programming as a design medium. It focuses around the concept of how programming can represent or conceive architecture. The “line was a powerful tool that performed within the 2D and 3D space. What makes the line such a powerful tool in architecture and how can it be manipulated to express architecture? Programs Used: Rhino, Illustrator, Photoshop, Python, AutoCad, laser cutter

Ambiguity plays a large role in the discovery of architecture through model making and drawing. Continuous or fragmented, the line contains the ability to create a sensation of infinite space. A field of computed information is generated. The pen plot drawing was translated from linear to planar to 3 dimensions.

The line is viewed as a source that holds the sensation of the future but also carries the past. Its collection depicts the perception of infinite space. It sets the stage for emergence and imagination.

Brain Institute: Structure & Plasticity The first exploration was through plasticity and structure. The resulting images imitated the shifting capabilities from two-dimensional to three-dimensional. Is there an order and plasticity within this process of understanding? The program is a Brown University Brain Institute of Research. The city landscape and research become two different worlds that insist on being in sync. It is a speculative project on research that questions how a brain institute looks inner and attempts to develop grounds of discovery and innovation. Light volumes sync the worlds together, allowing users to occupy the space and retain conversation. The project is about finding an architectural idea through this specific conceptual frame of thinking, blurring free space and architecture. Programs Used: Sketchup,, Rhino, Vray, Illustrator, Photoshop, AutoCad

Blossom Project: Design-Build This six-week project was conducted through an agreement and collaboration of RISD architecture students and the Chinese Christian Church located in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. An adjacent YMCA and daycare plan on using this site as well. This designbuild project’s mission was to improve and develop a communal, public space that brings awareness to the polluted Pawtucket River. We are proud to say that we are one of the first to occupy the river and set precedent for future use. It creates not only a place for exploration but also a hub for education and communal relaxation. Programs Used: Rhino, Illustrator, Photoshop, AutoCad

Individual Proposed Model

Throughout the building process, I had many roles including materials manager, design-build construction, and assisted in detail construction drawings. As materials manager, I was given the responsiblity in making sure that sufficient building materials were transported to the site and effectively handled.

RISD Making Center This project addresses RISD’s need for extra studio and work shop space. The concept behind the building was to create a structure that encompassed the entire campus. The horizontally projected bar bridges the two different studios. This bar is the common gathering space that houses the shop and machinery. The RISD Making Center was a collaborative project that focused on schematic design and the beginnings of mock construction documents. Daniel Kim, Rebecca Commissaris, Jino Kim, Mina

Buchanan Architecture 3835 San Jacinto Street #1 Dallas, TX 75204 (214) 363-5626 This project is a rennovation of the Lakewood Country Club in Dallas, Texas. This is a representation of some work I did during my summer internship at Buchanan Architecture, Summer of 2012. I worked on not only final construction documents, but also generated renderings and presentation boards. Conducted various site analysis and photo documentation as well. Programs Used: SketchUp, Vray, Illustrator, Photoshop, AutoCad, InDesign

lauckgroup 1601 Bryan St #101 Dallas, TX 75201 (214) 922-9000

This project is for a new Google headquarters project in Dallas, Texas. This is a representation of some work I did during my summer internship at lauckgroup, summer of 2013. The following drawings are some of the few that I have personally worked on.

Programs Used: SketchUp, Illustrator, Photoshop, AutoCad, MicroStation, InDesign

During this internship, I was held responsible for not only construction details but also SketchUp models such as a Google retail store known as Google Fiber. I was also privileged to be a part of client group meetings and taking notes.
