Company presentation Getting Started The beginnings of the company reach back to 1970 when Danica Zorin Mijošek, company founder and director, set out on the journey of entrepreneurship. Her clearly set goals led her to the therapy unit at Rogaška Slatina spa in northeast Slovenia, a prestigious spa resort with inexhaustible springs of healing mineral water, where she opened her first cosmetic salon, which is still a successful business. The new salon added variety to the existing local spa tourism, which mostly welcomed guests from neighbouring European countries. The scant range of cosmetic products available on the market brought about the manufacture of a first face-care product – camomile cream, which heralded the development of cosmetics under the Kozmetika Afrodita brand.

The Kozmetika Afrodita Brand The growing demand of delighted customers stimulated organised production, and later the opening of the Kozmetika Afrodita d.o.o. company, which developed a wide range of products for face, body and hair care. The guiding principle – to provide products of consistent quality from largely natural ingredients – gave the trademark visibility and as a result made it competitive. In the late eighties, owing to the increasingly liberalised market, buyers could finally find products bearing the Kozmetika Afrodita brand on the shelves of stores.

A Time of Changes Slovenia experienced many changes and jolts in the early nineties, and these were also felt in business. Kozmetika Afrodita found itself in a difficult situation due to the loss almost overnight of its market in the former Yugoslavia. By changing its strategy to focus on foreign markets, the company managed to keep on all of its employees and steer back on to the charted course.

Kozmetika Afrodita Today The company employs over 120 people of varied expertise, with emphasis on highly educated staff from the fields of pharmacy, microbiology, chemistry, management and marketing communications, united by the following values: strong teamwork, sincerity in relationships, promotion of creativity and motivation between colleagues. Today, the company occupies premises of cca. 6.000 m², one third of which is a business area and two-thirds modern production facilities. Professionalism and sensitivity to customers' needs continuously give rise to new ideas, patents and products that complement the already rich product range.

The Company's Production today is aprox. 300 products and consists of two groups of product: Products for general consumption including face, body and hair-care products, are, as a result of the increasing use of natural active ingredients, more appreciated each year and have gained international success. Kozmetika Afrodita is the Slovenian market leader in sales of anti-cellulite products in retail chains and ranks second with its face and body-care line. The total value of sales abroad exceeds 50% of the entire production. Within the framework of retail systems and cosmetics stores in chosen markets, it supplies more than 10.000 stores in 15 countries worldwide.

The professional care group of products consists of: Salon Exclusive - for professional use in cosmetic salons, wellness centres, spa centres and hair salons with products for: - facial care, - body care, - anti-cellulite treatment, - hand and foot care, - aromatherapy, - wellness programme, - hair care & styling. -

Home Care - line for customers who wish to follow up professional cosmetic treatment with quality care at home.

To the satisfaction of customers they are used in treatments at two Afrodita cosmetic salons in Rogaška Slatina and at Afrodita Beauty centre. Moreover, our quality has won the trust of more than 5.000 cosmetic salons and wellness centres at home and abroad.

About the Products All products are designed and developed in our own laboratories, where they undergo scrupulous chemical and microbiological testing. Internationally certified testing is carried out at world-renowned institutes. Kozmetika Afrodita does not conduct animal testing. This basic philosophy also underlies our choice of raw materials suppliers. The excellence of wide range of products is shown in: -

incorporated ingredients of natural plant origin, use of selected EcoCert certified ingredients, compatibility with the skin, products, free of added parabenes, silicones, paraffin.
