TYPOGRAPHY
TYPOGR APHY
Asap
Asap is the NFCYM’s official typeface, and as such is the only one that should ever be used for the brand. It is a contemporary sans-serif family with subtly rounded corners that echo the logotype’s shape an personality. This family, specially developed for screen and desktop use, offers a standarised character width on all styles, which means lines of text remain the same length.

Vision The Young Church T HE NF C YM M A NIF E S T O
P: 16pt Asap Regular, 24pt leading, black or white
The NFCYM looks to a future when young people see themselves as children of God who live as missionary disciples of Jesus Christ; when the gifts, struggles and diverse realities of young people are welcomed in Catholic faith communities; when pastoral ministry leaders have embraced the joy of the Gospel, and when families are living as the domestic Church.

PALETTE
COLOR
Palette When creating any piece for the NFCYM only use the exact colors provided in this guide, in addition to black and white.
Blue is the NFCYM’s primary color, also a base color meant to be dominant. As such, it should be about 60% of a composition’s colors. Red is the brand’s secondary color, used as a highlight color, and representing around 30% of a composition’s colors. Gray is a base color, and should be combined with white to create subtle visual hierarchies, separations, and decorations.

Graphic Elements Rounded corners, colored stripes path, and the deconstructed logo patterns are all graphic styles that support and enhance a design. Use them sparingly and mindful to not overload the design. For example, avoid combining stripes with patterns on the same composition.
IMAGERY
IMAGERY
Selection Avoid photos that look fake or forced. Seek high resolution, natural looks, and consistent quality. Ideally, use the NFCYM’s own photos. Use photos that echo the NFCYM’s color palette, and strive for a young and fresh look. Find free stock images at Pexels and Unsplash. If you have the budget, Raw Pixels has a solid mix of paid and unpaid options.
When placed over an image, use white text, darken or color the image (at least the area where the text goes), and use the white version of the logo.
Avoid adding long bodies of text over an image.
Place the text so the image’s subject isn’t directly behind the text.
Larger, shorter, bolder, whiter text is the easiest to read.
Now is the time for the young Church.
