Once alone, Dorian entered into a shack full of strange people smoking opium, to get to the bottom, Dorian saw an acquaintance, and after some talk with him, left, was uncomfortable if that was there. When leaving two women said There goes the pact with the devil, hearing this, Dorian was angry, then a woman said What you like is to be called Prince Charming, no?. Suddenly a sailor who seemed asleep was jumped and ran behind Dorian. He when he found on the street, grabbed him and was about to kill him because he had killed his sister, Sybil Vane, then, Dorian came to tell him that he could not be, because eighteen years of that, and he was very young. James then asked for forgiveness and let him escape. Later, the two women came and told him that Dorian had just eighteen years young. At this, the sailor was running behind Dorian, but this was gone. A week later, Dorian was in the conservatory at Selby Royal talking to the Duchess of Monmouth and Lord Henry, among others. Then left alone in the greenhouse and he seems to see the face of James Vane, seeing this, she faints. Chapter 16 The next day he didn't leave the house, he began to obsess on pursuing him to kill him, and ended up regretting killing his friend. Lord Henry entered his room and found him crying. Until the third day didn't dare to leave, and went hunting with some friends, but inadvertently, one killed a man behind a tree. From that moment, Dorian became obsessed with it was a bad omen, and soon something would happen to him. But that afternoon, went to visit the largest stores to speak of the accident, he said, the corpse, which looked like a sailor. Dorian went 7
to him and, seeing the lifeless body was that of James Vane, he let out a cry of joy. At last he was safe. Chapter 17 When he got home, he told his servant to go to bed, went to the library and began to think. It destroyed a mirror, he regretted having said that phrase when his friend finished the portrait. He decided to change his life forever and went to see the picture if it had changed for the worse. Then he realized that he had not been good lately, but hypocritical and vain. Suddenly, he took the knife with which he stabbed Basil and stuck in portrait, a horrible scream of pain was heard throughout the house and when the servants got into the room, saw the portrait of his master, so young handsome as ever, but the ground was a horrible, wrinkled old man with a dagger stuck in the heart, only, acknowledged it was Dorian ring. MESSAGE he book I liked, and I found entertaining and interesting. I think this book teaches us to have values in life, and tries to explain that beauty is not everything. In turn, this book seems a critique of society's obsession with beauty. Dorian is a fictional character representing reality, especially for young people today who are obsessed by beauty and reach the point that they become selfish and don't care about anything else, just looking good. And don't realize that, who really hurts is to themselves and the people who love them. I think what Oscar Wilde tries to explain through this work is that we are able to lose our soul for a nice body.
