BASEMENT:
BENCH DETAIL:
The shape of the shell uses the principles of the megaphone, by funnelling soundwaves into a small space and gradually opening the space for them to scatter.
MAIN LEVEL: STAGE SEATING
ACOUSTICS:
WOOD CONCRETE
THINNER The reinforced cast-in-place concrete shell structure thins out as it rises to alieviate the load bearing of the base. The seating is supported by beams that connect to the concrete shell.
STRUCTURE:
CAST IN PLACE CONCERTE
Materials--wood and concrete--meant to best reverberate soundwaves throughout the auditorium.
THICKER
The eastside opening in the shell provides water views and a means of capturing the constant river breeze.
