BIO Daniel Carvalho confirms through his compositions and stolen moments in daily life how much the world is fickle and difficult to interpret , how each personality is complex, bustling with excitement aroused by the fantasy of the transgression of his own limitations. Consistently tending to perfection, sometimes to the provocation, frequently aspiring to the reserve, intermittently to inhibition and how the representation of what each has of the world depends on the emphasis that is perceived to its own interests.

INTRO With an expressive composition of abstract photography , Daniel created a visual metaphor between Hong Kong's skyline and a neurological disorder named “Hysterical Blindness”. The term refers not to a medical condition, but rather a rare psychological condition in which trauma from an injury or illness results in a patient's assumed inability to see. The emotional turmoil experienced by people suffering from hysterical blindness causes them to block off visual impulses from the eyes to the brain. Also known as a conversion disorder, dissociative reaction, or psychological fac tors

affecting medical conditions, hysteria presents itself as an affliction of a sensory organ, in this case, the eyes. As vision wanes, the brain continues to interpret visual imagery in the absence of corresponding visual input, just as it sometimes continues to process pain signals from a limb that's no longer there. This condition causes vivid, complex, recurring visual hallucinations, usually (but not only) in older adults with later-life vision loss. These series are Daniel’s interpretations of the visual hallucinations that occurs once one looses one’s sight.

The world is full of light and movement. As our eyes dart from one illumination to another, there is a moment in between of sensory overload, during which the then and now overlap The effect on the mind from the rapid flow of light, as it pulses with activity and vibrancy around us can be euphoric And overwhelming. Distorting the sights and emotions,sending the psyche into a state of shock. Capturing the movement, speed and simplicity of everyday sites that one encounters, This series represent the speed of life versus the speed of the self. This daily battle of motion can blur how one envisions the norm.
