rom can actually be months of planning and preparation for this special event, the hours searching for the dress and the right accessories. Com-

plimenting your attire and creating the flawless everlasting memories of Prom is ensuring you have chosen the correct hairstyle and make up for you. Practicing and planning ahead with experimenting with several different looks will ensure you select the best style for your big night. Don’t rush your hair & make up especially on such a big night!

TIPS FOR CRE ATING THAT ALL- N IGHT-

LASTI NG MAK E UP:

Primers can actually do double-duty! Primers are a must when it comes to long-wearing makeup, but who knew they could also perk up tired eyes? Just a very thin veil has a brightening effect, you can sub in your highlighter-plus-primer formula for the usual concealer. The longwear aspect is already built in, so dab it on solo or apply to the inner corner of your eye!

Use setting powder, EVERYWHERE! Yes, you can stretch something as simple as setting powder to the multitasking max. Powders today are no longer what they used to be; they have a much more transparent, translucent finish to them. And they’re not just great for canceling out shine or sealing in your foundation—when doing a smoky eye, cover each layer of color with a light dusting of powder for

longer wear and smoother blending.

Many girls opt to have their hair done in a salon on the morning of prom, but it’s also a popular choice to do your own prom hair.

Lasting lipstick and lip liner: It’s not the product, but the prep work that makes your pout stay put all day. Apply foundation to canvas out the lip line, fill in the lips with your liner, then use your lipstick (or gloss) of choice. As the top layer gradually wears off, it leaves behind a chic stain that requires no touch-ups. Prom is easily one of the most memorable occasions in a high school girl’s life. The dress, the shoes, the date, and of course the hair have to be just right! Many girls opt to have their hair done in a salon on the morning of prom, but it’s also a popular choice to do your own prom hair. There is hundreds of great tutorials online offering advice on how to create beautifully styles for any hair type. Get inspired by the romantic, trendy, and classic hairstyles for your big night. Whatever your vibe is, there’s a ‘do to match your prom look! Doing your online research and doing test runs with the styles will guarantee the perfect look for you big night!

THE PROM GUIDE Every year there is a new graduating class of grade 8’s & 12’s. A metamorphosis of adolescents to teens and teens to young adults, a celebration and the coming of a new phase of a young person’s life. Unforgettable moments are what we are all in search of, but who wants to spend countless precious hours searching the internet or going from store to store? Beautiful By Design has taken the countless wasted hours out of the search. The Prom Guide has been designed for party goers & their families to quickly and easily locate the resources needed for graduation, prom, and all of life’s other special milestone events while addressing the needs of all consumers. Annually, BBD will celebrate these moments with new collections of must have’s, fashion’s top trends, and the year’s up & coming look in the Prom & Special Event world. BBD will produce and distribute over 50,000 copies of our annual Prom & Special Event Resource Guide through Indigo – Chapters, our advertisers and BBD’s Promella, a Prom & Special Event Showcase. The guide will help consumers find the resources needed for special moments in their lives that will help create these everlasting & beautiful memories. There are NO comparable publications in Canada and there is a huge demand for a resource guide in the marketplace. Prom Guide has carved out a niche position in the market with its exclusive and unique placement on the magazine stand against its US prom industry publications. Each guide will be shrink wrapped and loaded with samples as a direct marketing tool for our advertisers, allowing for coupons, incentives and samples to get directly into the target market’s hands. I personally invite you to become a part of an extremely exciting & exclusive advertising and marketing opportunity.

THE PROM GUIDE Market Analysis//

The Prom Guide is specifically targeted to the Prom and Special Events Market. Graduation, Semi Formal, Formals or Prom, the name doesn’t matter as much as the events themselves. This is a major milestone in a

Grade 8 Graduation is not as an elaborate an affair as Grade 12 Prom, but many full time working parents will still spend the money to outfit their children. In Canada, more than 70% of the cost of Prom falls directly on the parents. The unique thing is that working class parents, as well as upper middle class parents, participate in the Prom experience with their children. It’s a coming of age for the Graduating Teen and a bonding time for the parents of the same teen.

Canada is still relatively new in the entire Prom experience, with an average household spending of $804 on Prom, compared to the USA which spends an average of $1,086 for the same event.
