Arne Emil Jacobsen was a Danish architect and designer. He is remembered for his contribution to architectural functionalism as well as for the worldwide success he enjoyed with simple but effective chair designs. Especially he’s wellknow for his chair design ‘‘ The egg ‘‘ and ‘‘ drop ‘‘ .

Arne Jacobsen’s type of products is furniture design. The type of design Arne Jacobsen is presenting is efficiency, clean lines and modern. It’s made out of organic forms found in nature.
The physical product is very modern. The shapes are often heavy depending on which product it is. Arne Jacobsen sticks with the minimal and simple design. His design has a clean look. Otherwise, he’s using a lot of natural materials like wood and leather.

The shell is of polyurethane foam with glass fiber reinforcement. The foam for the upholstery and the seat cushion is cold cured polyurethane foam. The shell has an adjustable tilt mechanism, which can be adjusted to the weight of the individual user. The tilt mechanism is made of steel, while the adjustment handle is made of polished stainless steel.

The shell is made of plastic and available in four colors. The Drop chair is also available fully upholstered in a wide range of fabrics and leather types.

Charles Eames (1907-1978) and Bernice “Ray” Eames (1912 – 1988) were an American design team who made tremendous contributions to contemporary architecture and furniture design. They developed new technologies for working with fiberglass, plastic, resin and wire mesh, displaying the new wood molded furniture.

The functionality conceptual backbone of this diverse work was the search for the forms that comfortably made for the human body, using three-dimensionally shaped surfaces or flexible materials instead of cushioned upholstery, melted minimalistic from one piece.
Product “More quality furniture for mass production for the lower price!”. Early in their careers together, Charles and Ray identified the need for affordable, yet high-quality furniture for the average consumer—furniture that could serve a variety of uses.

The physicals are often molded plywood, fiberglass and plastic are used for the top of the furniture giving a bit of an abstract, flowing form. Target__group Furniture is as good for a cozy bedroom, family housing as for the office, school or luxury working office. The target customer is the young professionals and the people in their middle ages (25-50) of both men and women, who prefer more practical and simple design of their lives. The pricing is variable from 80 EUR till 8000 EUR, which makes it affordable for a different type of the consumers from different economic class.

Because of the simplicity of the design and newly discovered techniques of plywood molding, Charles and Ray Eames design became wildly copied, jet the only two companies which have the rights of making this furniture is Vitra (Europe) and Herman Miller inc. (USA). The copies of Eames prototypes can be seen in IKEA. Because of the simplicity and ergonomics, this design can be seen in places with large user amount – schools, sports stadiums, hospitals.
