GRAMMY AWARDS IN THE SPOTLIGHT
The GRAMMY Awards started in 1959, distributing only 28 awards at the time by the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences. The honors then increased as genres of music are evolving throughout the years. According to Britannica, 2011 was when NARAS restructured the category system of GRAMMY, wherein they decreased the number of awards given from 109 to 78. As years go by, there are adjustments made to improve the award show and its criteria. GRAMMYs Award Show aims to recognize the achievements of the producers and artists in the music industry. It occurs annually in the United States presented by the Recording Academy (National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences) or the Latin Recording Academy (Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences). The winners in GRAMMYs receive a golden statuette of a gramophone that signifies their hard work, effort, and achievement through the year.
