Declarations of Faith According to Psalm 91 Greetings! We are still in the midst of a pandemic. How are you holding up? I know for some it has been a challenge having to stay at home and even having to wear masks and gloves when having to go out. How we go through tough times is based on our perspective. With that being said, let me give you the perspective that although things are not the way we would want them to be at the moment, we are still around to experience the moment. Let's stay encouraged and connected as we go through these turbulent times. PSALM 91: I DECLARE I will dwell in the shelter of the Most High God. I DECLARE I will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I DECLARE that God is my Refuge and my Fortress. I DECLARE that you are my God (Hallelujah) in whom I trust and with great confidence and whom I will rely. I DECLARE that God will rescue me from every trap and protect me from every disease. I DECLARE I am covered and protected by His outstretched arms. I DECLARE that God's faithful promises are my armor and my protection. I DECLARE I will not be afraid of the terrors of the night nor of the arrows that fly in the day. I DECLARE I will not dread any disease that stalks in the darkness nor any disaster that strikes at midday. I DECLARE that because God is my Refuge and the Almighty the God of my home no evil can befall me and no plague can come near my dwelling. I DECLARE that God has ordered His angels to guard, defend and protect me and my house. I DECLARE that God's armies of Heaven will keep me from falling. I will walk unharmed and kick anything that's evil from my path. I DECLARE that because of God's love for me, I'll call on Him. He'll set me above all my troubles. He will deliver me from all my fears and He will honor me with His presence and power. I DECLARE He will reward me with long life and He will show me His Salvation. **The above declarations are an excerpt of the message, 'Confessions and Bringing Order to Your Life', from Dr. Creflo Dollar, Jr., Founder and Senior Pastor of World Changers Church International (WCCI) in College Park, Georgia** N.A.I. Tarry Hearken Solutions DC, MD, VA
"I only want to create imagery and tell stories that matter."
For as long as I can remember, I wanted two things; a watch so I could tell time, and a camera so I could capture it. As a child I wanted a camera! I studied film photography in high school and have been hooked ever since. When I approach a scene, I am always searching for a creative way to tell a story. WHAT SACRIFICES HAVE YOU HAD TO MAKE TO BE SUCCESSFUL? THS: Sleep! Lol. I work long days. And not just with photography! I am often juggling multiple priorities, and deadlines. Sometimes that requires long nights. N.A.I. MAGAZINE - PAGE 13
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE PHOTOS TO SHOOT AND WHY? THS: I love sessions where the subject allows me space to create. So, to answer this question honestly, I would say that good rapport between myself and my subject can create an atmosphere I love to work in. In short, I am a storyteller. What impacts that story is access, and vulnerability on both parts. So not necessarily a favorite style, or subject, but more so a creative freedom. PHOTOGRAPHER DON MCCULLIN IS KNOWN FOR HIS WAR PHOTOS. ANSEL ADAMS IS KNOWN FOR HIS LANDSCAPE AND NATURE PHOTOS. AS TIME GOES ON, WHAT TYPE OF PHOTOS DO YOU WANT HERMAN COPELIN, THE PHOTOGRAPHER, TO BE KNOWN FOR? THS: I think being known for a specific genre, or style of work (as these gentlemen were), is an immensely overwhelming goal. I believe that when a person looks at my body of work, they will see an array of voices. I love that. Having the flexibility to visualize a concept, and then create it as I see is very gratifying. I want to be remembered as the photographer that heard your vision, and then partnered with you to achieve it. (Regardless of its style).
ANY FUTURE PROJECTS ON THE HORIZON FOR THSPROPHOTO? A BOOK OR GALLERY OF YOUR PHOTOS MAYBE? Ah! I am currently working on a cityscape coffee table book, and it has been in the making for almost 2 years, (thanks to Covid-19). Things however seem to be opening up, so maybe I will continue as the weather breaks. I would love to do some fine art personal projects, but the business side of the house keeps me so busy, I feel like that would be an unfair commitment to make. N N .. A A .. II .. INTERVIEW WITH
TIFFANY BARBER TrailBlazer, Dessert Chef Extraodinaire, and Owner of Tiffany's Tasty Cakes, LLC
"...the business is not your life, it is only a part of your life. Make sure you take care of you!"
WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO START YOUR BUSINESS AS A DESSERT CHEF? Tiffany’s Tasty Cakes, LLC has been dedicated to providing beautiful, moist, and delicious cakes and cupcakes for fifteen years in the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia areas. A leap of faith to make my daughter's birthday cake, revealed a God given passion and talent. DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN 3 WORDS AND TELL HOW THESE WORDS HAVE BEEN INSTRUMENTAL IN THE SUCCESS OF YOUR BUSINESS. Creativity, persistence, and passion are the tools I use to produce a beautiful and tasty product that my customers will enjoy and be compelled to tell others about. N.A.I. MAGAZINE - PAGE 19
HOW DO YOU JUGGLE BOTH FAMILY AND BUSINESS LIFE? My faith in Jesus Christ, my wellbeing, my husband, and children are always first. To assure a balance we have come in agreement on our business hours. We never take on heavy workload during the weeks of our birthdays, anniversaries, and other important events. The family is so supportive of the business and will pitch in whenever needed. The business is only as healthy as the owner. I have learned to take care of my spiritual, mental, and physical needs through activities such as, spending time with God, exercising, going on vacations, and taking spa days.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF AND YOUR BUSINESS IN THE NEXT 5 YEARS? In the next five years, I plan to retire from baking and decorating. I will focus solely on operations and management of Tiffany’s Tasty Cakes, LLC. I plan to start a non-profit organization that will provide low-income families with birthday cakes for their children. I also plan to open a location in Washington, DC where I was born and raised. WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU LIKE TO GIVE TO UP & COMING ENTREPRENEURS? My advice to upcoming entrepreneurs is to put people above profit. Serve the customer with excellence and the profit will come. Trends and times will change. Stay educated and relevant in your business. Do not be intimated or unwilling to grow with new technology. Lastly, the business is not your life, it is only a part of your life. Make sure you take care of you! The business is only as healthy as you are. N.A.I. MAGAZINE - PAGE 20

Exclusive interview with Doula, Childbirth Educator, and Fertility Coach
JENN BRAZELTON
HELLO, my name is Jenn Brazelton, owner of In Love Birthing. I am a Doula, a Childbirth educator, as well as a fertility coach. I work with women in all stages of fertility, and I support them in having the best possible conception, gestation, and birth experience imaginable. My mission is to deconstruct the myth of insufficiency in the female body that causes women to live, birth and operate
"It matters who you allow to fertilize your soil."
from fear instead of confidence in their heart, body, and mind’s ability to accomplish AMAZING things.
I believe it is wildly important for women to have a Doula support them through the fertility journey and to support, educate and empower them to embrace their own authentic practices that align with their beliefs, convictions, and passions about birthing their children in a way that is impactful to their future. I became a Doula six years ago after crossing paths with a first-time mom who was adamant about having a natural birth, but due to the discouragement of her doctor, she did not feel like it was possible for her. After having had spent a great amount of time studying (for my own births) what is possible for the female body and what God has said concerning our ability, a desire billowed up in my heart to assist her in her birthing time. Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to assist that young lady and I do not believe she got the birth experience that she had desired. The next month, I was in a Doula training program to become a certified Doula so that I would never have another situation where I was not able to help a woman who needed support in her birthing time.
N.A.I. MAGAZINE - PAGE 24
My enjoyment of being a Doula comes from watching women of all different ages, demographics and social statuses embrace their divine ability to do AMAZING things. As much as BIRTHING is a focal point of what I do, I WHOLE HEARTEDLY believe that women are designed to do INCREDIBLE things but, the weight of the world boxes us in and makes us average. Personally, I believe that birthing is one of the proving grounds to ignite great expectations out of our entire being. Once a woman can see herself as capable, powerful, and strong in such a “vulnerable” time I believe it can and will UNLOCK the pathways for her to become even MORE SO capable, powerful, and strong in EVERY area of her life. This is not subject only to physical birth. If you follow me for any period of time, you will hear me say that women are constantly in a season of conceiving and birthing. It matters who you allow to fertilize your soil. Success in my business has not come without many sacrifices. Of course, there is always the financial investments that cause one to grow in their craft. At the same time as I have been growing my business, I have also been growing my family. Late nights on the roads driving to the hospital, early morning text messaging while
"She sacrificed her thoughts, desires, and her body so, that her tiny little someone could make their way into the world."
timing contraction patterns, hours of continuing education to keep up with my professional development. It is all to the benefit of that mama who sits up in the hospital bed and says, “I can’t believe I just did that on my own.” N.A.I. MAGAZINE - PAGE 25
Yup, she sure did do that all on her own. She sacrificed her thoughts, desires, and her body so, that her tiny little someone could make their way into the world. Any sacrifice I make on that day is minor in comparison to her great accomplishment.
